RIM’s head of Marketing is leaving the company

Keith Pardy, head of marketing at Research In Motion is leaving the company in six months for personal reasons. This makes us wonder what changes will take place, if any, and is this a good or bad thing for RIM? They will soon launch their Blackberry Playbook tablet so this notice of resignation comes as a huge surprise to RIM right before the launch.

T-Mobile will soon offer discounts on mobile broadband accounts

If you have T-Mobile voice service with a broadband card there are some good deals heading your way. Keep in mind, you must have voice service too, not just a broadband card.

T-Mobile will soon introduce their new webConnect broadband rate plans. The good deal, based on what we can tell so far, is that some will qualify for a 20% discount when paired with a qualifying voice line.

Microsoft resending updates to Samsung Windows Phone 7 devices

Were you among the several Samsung Windows Phone 7 users with complaints about the first update Microsoft sent your device? Were you one of the users who never got the update to go through? If so, the complaints have been heard and the problems are being solved. 

Microsoft is currently resending the February update to Samsung phones as well as continuing to send the update to other Windows Phone models. If you haven’t received the second update yet, be patient. It’s on a certain schedule to hit all devices soon. Keep your eyes open for the update notification.

Blackberry Messenger Will Launch On Android & iOS

You read right! The folks over at BGR is reporting that they have information from multiple trusted sources that Research In Motion (RIM) is planning on bringing its Blackberry Messenger (BBM) service to Android, and eventually iOS. Details have not been finalized yet, but it sounds like they will offer a stripped down version of their service and it could be free or a one-time or monthly subscription fee. Read more…

[DISCUSSION] What is better: Bing, Yahoo, Google Search

Sources say Google is claiming that Microsoft is stealing their search abilities and have had little influence on people’s search habits. It seems while Bing is growing, Yahoo and Google are both down a few percent as you can see in the chart above.

Either way, it doesn’t look like many Google users are bothered by any of this because each of the services are still being used. Let us know what you think after you see the statistics inside!

This is an interesting move by Sony and what looks like a direct attack against Windows phone 7 and their Xbox live integration. Trying to capture the MLG is huge because they have a huge influence on the Xbox Live community.

UPDATE: Verizon Wireless doesn’t need Windows Phone 7

It seems some folks may have taken this article the wrong way and thought that it was Verizon saying they didn’t need Windows Phone 7, when actually it was only one person who works for Verizon that made the statement. That’s what we mentioned in the article previously but apparently was overlooked.

We are here today not only setting that confusion straight but also to assure you that Verizon Wireless will in fact be getting Windows Phone 7 devices. We all knew this deep in our minds so it’s crazy to think otherwise. The article was a great topic though wasn’t it?
