Apple is facing major supply issues with the new iPad 2, with some customers having to wait 4 to 5 weeks for delivery. Apple has had shortage issues in the past with the second generation iPhone 3G for more than a month and up to 3 weeks on the Iphone 4 according to reports from NPD Group.

According to Stephen Baker, an analyst with retail research firm NPD Group, compared the shortage to the iPhone 3G situation. Most customers would rather hold out for the second generation of the product after the flaws have been resolved on the first generation as was the case with the first iPhone.

According to Brian Marshall of Gleacher & Co., the shortage is due to the “tremendous demand” for the Ipad 2. Rhoda Alexander, an analyst at IHS iSuppli, agreed with Marshall and added the disaster in Japan is not effecting delivery of the iPad 2. Alexander also anticipated these issues when they heard only 100 iPads would be available in each store.

Marshall also finds it interesting that Apple has not released sales figures on the iPad 2 since launch. Typically Apple likes to show those numbers off, such as it did after launch last year when 300,000 were sold on the first day of sales.

According to Reuters, the launch of the iPad 2 will be postponed in Japan while the country focuses on recovering from the recent disaster.

Microsoft has finally started rolling out the NoDo update after quite a few delays. The latest Windows Phone 7 device (HTC Arrive) has this update and seems to work well. The NoDo update has other functionality updates also, including apps search on the device, performance improvements, Wi-Fi functionality and Outlook e-mail client.

The update is still missing the highly sought after Multi-tasking feature. This function should be added when Microsoft rolls out Mango. Take a look at the video of the copy and paste feature below.

What is the PPCGeek Podcast?

The PPCGP, Or Pocket PC Geeks Podcast, is a audio podcast composing of members of the mobile world, to discuss the mobile world “In Review” (Any major developments over the last few weeks or current). In general, we focus our content on what come and goes on the major sites (PPCGeeks, XDA, BGR, DSLReports, AP and others) and what we find out from our dedicated users. If we think its fitting, it’ll be discussed with our “round table” of 2-5 people. These people range greatly and come from all walks of life.

We discuss anything pertaining technology, but will focus specifically on Windows Mobile, Android, Iphone, and Palm Devices. Anything regarding the Developers, Carriers, and Manufacturers of these devices is also included. Not to mention as well as iPad, slates, and other emerging mobile technologies

The PPCGP is, long story short, PG-13. Topics and discussions are always intended to remain PG or G, but we’re only human and where things can turn, they probably will. It’s suggested people keep an open mind and be mature when listening, the slip of the tongue may happen and we are sorry in advance!

Who are the PPCGP?

The PPCGP does each show in a “Round Table” discussion style. The host comes prepared with a list of topics to discuss and relevant information, the guests of the host then bring up their thoughts and opinions, and the rest goes whichever way the wind does. It’s a very open ended audiocast, meaning almost anything under the sun can come up, it all depends on the hosts and the alcohol content of the guests.

Often, the host of the show will be Laos101, who is the head of the PPCGP at this time. The show’s number and type of guests vary always, the only way to ensure a guest will be attending is to listen live.

When is the PPCGP?

The PPCGP is scheduled to air every Saturday @ 4PM EST HERE! (Mobile friendly methods, such as a internet radio station, are coming soon.) Be sure to tune in tomorrow to find out who the special guests will be!!
