The LG Mobile World Cup 2011, Fastest Texter Championship is tomorrow!

It’s that time again folks. LG is back with the fastest texter competition at the LG Mobile World Cup, being held tomorrow, January the 26th at the Gotham Hall in New York City. Participants from sixteen countries will compete to break the Guinness World Record for speed texting and accuracy, from a mobile device of course, to win a top prize of $100,000 US.

Remember the young lady from last year, texting champion Brianna Hendrickson, well she will be back this year. This time she has a little more competition. It will be interesting to see if she can take the record home again this year.

Here are the details:

  • Participating teams will compete to gain the title of the “World’s Fastest Texters” for texting on a QWERTY mobile phone
  • Representing the US, Numeric keyboard finalist Angel Conion and LG US national Texting Champion Brianna Hendrickson, who grabbed the title in 2010 by using the LG Ally
  • Team USA will go up against the best other counties can offer from Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, El Salvador, Indonesia, Honduras, Guatemala, Morocco, Korea, Panama, Portugal, Nicaragua, Thailand and South Korea
  • During the contest participants will attempt to win by texting phrases in their own language exactly as the phrase is shown on nearby LG plasma screens. They are allowed NO abbreviations or mistakes.
  • QWERTY players will be using the LG Etna Plus handset while numeric players will use the LG BL20 handset.

Once the event is over and the winner is announced I will be back to update you with the results!
