Sprint’s HTC Arrive – A hands on video of the copy & paste update
Available March 20th, this device is known as a Windows Phone 7 HTC 7 Pro in Europe and the HTC Arrive in the U.S. We just want to make sure you understand that first. It sports a QWERTY tilt-o-matic keyboard, a 3.6" WVGA display, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 5 mega-pixel camera with flash and 720p video recording and 16GB's of internal storage all for only $199.99 on a two-year contract, after a $100 mail-in rebate.
This device will also be launching with Microsoft's anticipated copy and paste update. The copy and past feature seems to be really cool but tricky. You have to know how to use it. Sources originally thought that multiple pasting wasn't available, when after making the video below they actually figured it out. Take a look at the quick video showing you how the copy and paste now works.
Impressive to you? Does it look simple? That's what we hope it will be. Let us know what you think in the comments box below.

3.6″ screen is cool to have as an option for those of us who don’t want 4.3″ screens, but for WP7/Sprint to launch with such a tiny screen is kinda funny. I got the Samsung in Jan because I was tired of waiting, and not sure if I’d want a Windows phone you can’t really mod. I think I’ll go back in 6 months to a year if Windows wakes up and caves on the whole NaziLock.

I agree… seems odd that they’re not launching with two styles. It’s certainly the only thing holding me back on pre-ordering. I’m playing the wait-and-see game to actually get my hands on it first as a demo. I use the EVO now, and going back to a small screen might be painful.
Still, it’s an impressive looking device.
Ok, let me just say I’m all about Android. With that being said, seriously Sprint?
Even if I was looking into a Windows 7 phone 3.6 inch screen is so small. On top of that it looks like there talking about Windows 8 coming out soon. Good luck getting a update from Sprint for Windows 8. For the icing on the cake, my EVO has Dolphin browser mini which has had copy and paste ( along with other options) for months. If that is going to be your selling point for this new phone, good luck. I would imagine the only people to be fooled by this will be ones that just don’t know any better. If anyone important from Sprint is reading this, GET A CLUE. WE WANT AT LEAST A 4″ SCREEN WITH OUT A PHYSICAL KEYBOARD AND ANDROID 3.0. STOP WAISTING YOUR TIME WITH ANYTHING ELSE.

Not everyone wants a 4″ screen. Same goes with not having a keyboard.

if all about android why waste your time here? if u don’t like what sprint had out you’re more than welcome to pay an ETF to go somewhere else or better yet start your own carrier.

why does every one always complain that the screen is to small. 4 inch or bigger seems way to big unless your keep your phone in a purse. Its relative to the user but i just don’t get that 4 inch minimum so may people crave. since you don’t like the size and are happy with the evo. you should just keep the phone you have and be happy that it accommodates your standards. This phone is clearly not marketed to you.

Your just upset that the phone you have touted as the greatest OS ever is not PLEASING everyone who actually has one!
Welcome to reality dude!

It’s about the Video playback which most people not using WP7 do a lot with their phone.
Have you ever tried to read a website on a tiny screen? It’s kind of like playing air hockey.

3.6 isn’t tiny at all its a .4 difference por favor

Nearly half an inch!
Maybe fine for small kiddie fingers but not for most adults!

most adults use blackberries and how big were those screens eh? and what about the first android phones? those screens were small too. all the first set of wp7s are coming out with larger screens than that. gotta start somewhere.
They like bleeding customer. They are doing a service for ATT and Verizon…even T-mobile.

Uhh Say what?
If MS wants in the market all they need to do is put out some bad ass phones.
EVO did not sell because of android, it sold because people wanted a top of the line phone. In the end its the hardware that sells, not the OS.
I like the TP7 but they are going to have to wow us a little more then that to get anyone’s attention.

Haha so u think It’s not the android ? C’on , do u even know what is the difference ? Tell me one Windows phone which provides free apps to beat iiPhone apps… and what is that Windows phone can do and android can’t do, instead its the android that made many things possible … just like free apps for sure, 4G, faster OS and easy to use etc… I had been using TP2 and then HD2, but I know Android is the winner!

Q:”and what is that Windows phone can do and android can’t do?”
A:Can you stream netflix movies on android? How about x-box live integration?

There is only one problem with that Lafester,
Microsoft doesn’t actually make phones, Other companies do.
That idea works for Apple because they make everything in the iPhone both Hardware and Software.
But Google and MS both rely on the hardware manufacturers to make the phone and create the drivers (with some help from the android and WP7 SDKs) for those new kick ass features.
In fact one of the reasons for MS creating WP7 is they got left in the dust when they realized WM6.x could not handle multitouch while iOS and Google could.
Now WP7 does it but what happens if the next latest and greatest feature comes around that is incompatible with the way MS did something?
Could be true for Google as well but since the Android OS is open source there are millions more people who have access to the code who can solve the problem.
MS has a bad history on this front. Took them 5 years to come up with a OS (Vista) that they had to scrap in a year and create Win7.

actually if i remember correctly hd2 was a multi-touch device
PS: correction, vista lasted 2 1/2-3 years like win 3.1,95, 98, nt 3.51 and nt4 did. the only operating system that lasted longer was xp.
I pre-ordered mine today
The sprint store did say they are expecting a 2nd device but couldnt remember what it was.. he said he thought another HTC .. hmmm.. Idk. I wish I did know before I actually get this one. But I for one like this very fast and fluid OS. It’s still very new and we’ll see alot to come from Wp7!
Btw I have an Evo now and it will suck to get a smaller screen, but only temporary until a better one comes about !!
I do not like the plug in on the side at all.

from one sprint wp7 phone article to the other all you’ve done is whine and complain, if you dont like the device dont buy it. simple as that. I myself happen to like it on the side as having headphones and the charger connected was crowding the bottom a bit too much. thats why they moved it.
anyone alse notice the USB/Charging Placement in the pic??? that has to be the worst place ever to put it!?!?!?!

Eric, why are you so mean to everyone. If you don’t like people discussing phones, than don’t come to this site anymore. All you do is pick on people for stating their opinions, what makes your opinion any better?
To the PPCGeeks Admins, you guys need to enforce your rules, ever since Eric got on board, this site has been going downhill because of his rudeness.

site didnt start going downhill till fandroid and iTrolls started entering the TP2 and other MS threads and articles espariciendo su amor por android and then bashing WM and WP7 for not being like android. everything was fine before then
Please do not add comments if they aren’t directed towards the article. Opinions are wanted and welcome. Please do not consider someone else different or wrong because you disagree with a statement and we will all get along.
Btw, I’ll have these comments cleaned up soon. Sorry geeks!!!

Courtney1985,
We all respect and appreciate your work and what this site has to offer to everyone here.
I would appreciate it if you did not take into consideration what NIKKG and other have suggested (indirectly) to do. Every individual has a way of responding and showing how they feel about certain subjects. whether it’s with a cold response or with extreme passion. We should not expect everyone to respond in a generalized way.
I for one have responded in a passionate way and showed how i feel about certain subjects as everyone else has. debates get heated and if someone can’t take the heat then those individuals should not be reading or posting something that would get things started in that direction.
by the way, i can’t wait for a wp7 port to evo
.4 ??? You mean it’s almost a half inch smaller! Thats a lot pal!

that’s what she said!
There’s a difference between kiddie fingers and gorilla paws. I have a TP2 and typing is a breeze on it’s REAL keyboard. Remember the Arrive has a physical keyboard so there’s no need to have a large screen for drawing the fake keyboard.

i’m getting old, i need a big screen so i can read while drinking my ensure
can’t we all just get along?
I went to pre-order mine and I did not have to pay anything… The manager just added my name to the list and told me that he would hold my phone March 20…
I thought it was weird and told him of the $50 dollar gift card we are supposed to be buying… he said not to worry about it and guaranteed my phone for that date… I hope they discount my $50 for the “pre-order”… jejeje…
I also asked them about the “other” WP7 phone that is rumored to come out later this year but he did not have an answer for that… I brought up the point that AT&T and TMO both have dropped the sales prices for WP7 and that if that would be the case for this phone. He stated that maybe in 6mo to a year SPRINT may consider dropping the price like it does for most of its phones…
Thought they were not the answers I was looking forward to, they eased my mind for a little and the rest of the time I was dreaming about my ARRIVE anyways… jejeje
