Now that the new Windows Phone 7 Series has been announced at MWC10, Microsoft has already put up a website to demo the new UI. Also, check out the quote in the screenshot above!
You can view the demo here: http://www.windowsphone7series.com/.
It covers most of the new layout features that were discussed during the press conference and lets you see some things in action.
Thanks to forum user kev.schu for the tip.

Oh my goodness gracious that is incredible lol
And… there’s a quote form PPCGeeks on the front page of the Windows Phone 7 site!
Love that they quoted MM and our exclusive story on WM7! Microsoft you rock!
~mike
I don’t really like the interface at all they are using.
I guess wm7 team favors us here at PPCgeeks!
Well, that just made my day. I’m crossing my fingers this is going to be as good as it seems. I hate there is no Flash support. Maybe that will change.
Now, in the words of Terry Bradshaw after the Saints won their championship game.
“Go win it [Microsoft]!”
I get the feeling they also are taking some ideas from Manila 3D lol. But mostly the good parts. I seriously cannot wait, I do hopt though that they end up with backwards compatability at least in some form, but besides that if the phone performs as fast as the online demo and looks that sweet, it may be a good year for Windows Mobile.. What does scare me is how AT&T is soo up and gun ho about WM7… I really hate AT&T here and really want Sprint to get some damn good phones (exclusive even and possibly 4G) AT&T has had enough dictatorship of a lot of cool devices (as has Tmobile now) IMO.
Great news
Very nice to see our articles being looked at by the high gods and being commended
Oh man I LOVE that interface! It looks pretty good to me, and it doesn’t sacrifice any functionality to look that good! I want it.
I think I found my first Christmas present lol
Start/Home button indicates bye bye multi tasking.
All I can say is: “Do NOT want.”
That is such a let down. I guess it would appeal to the social networking generation. “Update the world, from a single stage”. What the hell, does the world really give a damn?
Terrible, in every way possible.
SO were the rumors confirmed or denied? Will there be multitasking, 3rd paty interfaces like SPB Mobile Shell, and installing cabs from the storage card (or alternative places other than directly from the marketplace)?
@SaltyDawg – NO multi tasking. The demo guys refers to it as “MS wants user to have a great experience” LMAO! BTW, on the device he’s using, Copy and paste is not enabled. WHA WHA WHAT???

I’m looking for where PPCGeeks was quoted. Can soemone provide the link? I didn’t see it on the WM7 site linked in this Blogpost.
Boo!
Crap sites not working for me
You guys keep saying no Multitasking, but it almost looks like the entire OS is one large multitasking setup with each part. If you guys watched the press confrence deal, the video played after the 2nd guy (forgot his name, the guy showing the phone off lol), mentions how apps currently are in and out, the new phone links everything together and offers you galnces before going in if needed. To me this might shut out Backwards compatability (at least in the intigration standpoint) but also might open the door to new apps from devs to mix into the phone. Think of an IRC client that seemlessly intigrates into the new interface? You an glance at it to see if any new chats have been added then go back to doing other things on the phone, same goes for downloading, music, etc. i dont see it not being multitasking to some level and perhaps a new level that we dont know of yet. They did leave a lot out still like the phone (dialer), copy paste (bet its there we just didnt see it) and other things. Give it time guys, tehy still have about a year to get this stuff out.

@IM0001 – MS rep was asked if there is multitasking? He said that he won’t necessarily call it no multitasking. He said that W7 is aiming for a great user experience. WHat kind of an answer is that? The answer should be as simple as yes or no. If the answer is no, there is a reason for sure. “Coz W7 is aiming for a great user experience”. LOL
so were pretty much going BACK in time? no multitasking, no copy and paste. wow! way to go microsoft! if i wanted an iphone id go and buy an iphone, BUT i DONT wanna buy an iphone!

If you click on that link provided above, check out the top right of the screen, they flash different quotes from different places, i.e. ppcgeeks, etc.
Give it a sec for everything to load up on that page to see it.
Well, I realy don’t like the stupid interface. They basically just put a picture on evey page of it. It’s just like ZuneHD interface with picture. It just waste a lot of system resources. It’s stupid and You always gotta go back home to open another application.
With that being said, I believe that the hardware is capable of almost any mobile task you give it. Even 3D is fine but needs a little tune up on the interaction. Once MS allows other companies to incorporate their own UI, It will be better from there. Just look at the WP7 interface as the titanium. Not too many people really cares about it. But if you put manila and sense on top of it, It becomes it’s own class. I just hope that there is a work around on multitasking, tethering and all of the stuffs that we used to with WM. That is the big point. BUt if MS starts acting like Apple, They will fail. WHy? bcoz the difference with WM and iPhone, WM gave us everything from the start, Taking it away is a different story. Unlike Apple, they gave them nothing at the begining, then gave them little by little in time.
I think they are taking a gamble with their last chance here. Where are the system folders? Where is the Copy Paste? Where is the Flash? I just dont see why they would throw everything away that they have done thus far and say ” screw it, lets make an interface for 6 year olds”. I need core Windows functions. How about printing, advanced network support,VPN, integrated remote access, video conference, and a browser that doesn’t suck. Or why didn’t they make 2 versions? One for the social networking crowd (Basic) and one for the Power Users (Ultimate)? Don’t let us down Ballmer, I’ve been MF’n Apple and Jobs for a long time for you, don’t stick it in my ass now.
I only have one thing to say, Android, here I come.
I’m not impressed with Windows Mobile 7 and I’m a current WinMo user (HTC Touch Pro 2 currently).
Android is going to be seriously considered during my next phone purchase.
Disappointed for sure. I definitely understand. This is what manufacturers and carriers wanted. I wish it had built on its strengths, not embraced the iPhones weaknesses.
@djdeville They are making 2 versions. This one is the Media version and their is supposed to be a more business oriented version coming out aroung the same time. We are still about a year out people. Geez
Well it seems they are marketing it as a “multitasking device” from this ad..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MoVc6NLMDU&feature=player_embedded
@IM001… No, there won’t be multiple versions from the sound of it, that much seems to be proven wrong. However, I agree on the multitasking comment.
It sounds more like the Live Tiles and hub integration will serve more as a dynamic widget that allows the app to keep running for updates and such. Sounds like multitasking to me.
In any case, the non-committal response is that they are waiting to announce more technical details at the MIX conference.
I have to say that as a Zune HD owner, this is really, REALLY exciting to me.
First of all, I get all the social networking news I care about and none of what I don’t from the demos seen today. I get my email and calendar and music and photos all on one device using an already familiar interface (to me at least from the Zune HD).
I find this demonstration of the experience much more informative for those who want to know more technical details…

Great video, thanks for sharing!
@Beejis
Thanks!
Here is what the director of WP7 have to say about multi tasking:
“The core operating system is a modern multitasking operating system. If you play music for example, the music will play back as you navigate around the experience…if you’re using email, we have great support for push email and that happens in the background.
For third party applications—we’ll get into a lot more detail on this in MIX—but we have a few ways we’re going to make sure that third parties can bring their value to the user even when the app is not running. Live tiles are an example. Data feeds in the hubs are another example for some apps.”
With that being said, Only the OS and the core will have the abilitity to multitask. Meaning, all that will come with the Phone out of the box. Can play music while checking text message for example. SImilar to how iPhone does it. Iphone can continuously play music while doing something else like looking at pics out of the box.
Basically, The OS has full control of the CPU. WHen running a 3rd party App, then opening another app, The OS will pause the first app to make sure that the next app will have more than enough resources to do it’s duty. The OS can also kill the halted 3rd app if necessary if he feels that it will make the device crash or the OS just want to clear the memory. This is a very efficient way to run the device. But there will be sacrifices to be done.
Hmmm…looks like I’ll be switching to Android.

Yes, it’s called a prototype. Ever heard of those? They’re not the real deal but rather a machine to skim through the basics.
I’m happy ppcgeeks is embracing it.
xda-developers are still in 1998 or so it seems as they’d rather have 6.5 instead.
@jethro_static – Jumping into conclusion from an unfinished products, aren’t we?
@christianm17 – ANd your on denial?
@christianm17 – I am about 80% sure of what i’m saying, going through around the web and squeezing information. According to Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore VP of windows phone, WHen he introduced WP7, He repeatedly said. “The phone is not a PC”
Do you understand that? Or you know nothing about the phone and come here just to challenge me bcoz you did not like what you’re reading? MS is heading to a different direction now. They will be dealing with the masses which makes about 95% of the sales rater than catering to geeks like us. WHen I say us, That doesn’t include you christian. Your not a geek but a regular user.
@jethro_static –
you’re a crackhead.. when you go bck to an application, the application is exactl whee you left it, that my dear crackhead is like having multi-tasking. when you don’t have multitasking, the app starts from poin A.
copy and paste will be enabled as the product is still being worked on, this is not apple, this is the best at work.
@Cicatrize –
cya!, don’t let the door hit you on the backside!
this product is literally the most amazing! the most incredible OS on any device (pc’s included). It’s amzing how fanboys come in here trying to put MS down for this amazing OS.
Congrats MS, i knew you would rock the world of smartphones like you always have!
