Sprint Cutting Labor Costs By $350M

Sprint announced today that it will be cutting back internal and external labor costs by at least $350 million in the 4th quarter of 2009. This includes layoffs of 2,000 to 2,500 positions within the company. They said most of the impacted positions will be eliminated by December 31, 2009.
"The reduction impacts positions companywide, including those previously announced this month in the Wholesale organization, as well as a reduction in contractor and other outside labor. The company is taking this action in a careful manner to ensure that there is no impact on the improved customer experience that has been reflected in much higher levels of satisfaction in customer surveys and in independent performance tests. Sprint has pledged to not waver on the company’s commitment to quality service and products."

Damn didnt they just spend a BILLION dollar’s for their 4g network? I see people jumping off the Titanic already.
feeling sorry for the employees..
Once again, people are trying so hard to get free things from sprint. Now it cost’s people jobs.
Its not the customers fault for wanting “free” stuff from sprint. It Sprints crappy business model that is putting them 350 mil in the hole
This move from sprint has nothing to do with getting free stuff is all about business politics…
Wow, here come the jealous whiners “Oh! Its YOUR fault Sprint sucks!”……..as if the customer’s run the company…..douchbags.
Anyways, I still don’t expect Sprint to go bankrupt anytime soon. They are STILL the number 3 carrier, and even if they were to drop to number 4 in the distant future, T-Mobile’s been there for years. Sprint isn’t going anywhere.
