One of Our Own Looks at A Windows Phone 7 Device – Up Close and Personal!
dishe, a user on our forums for some time now, was given a unique opportunity from an anonymous source to play with an LG slider Windows Phone 7, and he had quite a nitpicking with it - with both pros and cons of the QWERTY device, looking much like an LG Ally in shape and design.
For full details, read on and for a link to the related forum topic!
Dishe talked about there being some issues - such as a non rotating "Tabs" page and other smaller bugs - but he also noted its smooth design and usage - despite being still a test phone in DEBUG mode.

Lol, you sure it isnt just an Ally running a ported Windows Phone 7?
@Whosdaman – nope, its the LG Panther(GW910)
Can’t wait to see a WIndows 7 without a keyboard, for Sprint……………..
Waiting to see a HTC WP7 device with Sense 3. That might be my next phone. If windows doesn’t make a smooth jump to this OS, I may find myself getting more into a Android phone with Froyo. I liked testing Froyo on my TP2 until it recently killed my 16gb sd card. Fortunately, I found a store with a 16gb micro sdhc card for $32.99 this week only.
Care to share the website @Mike G. -
@crookdbill
I just did a google search, and the 16gb sdhc card could be had for >$35 at many places.
I think Windows is too late to the party with this new OS. So many die-hard WM users have already left for the more stable and customizable Android. Now WP7 will be more locked down, less customizable, and probably some WM bugs/lag that were used to on our WM phones. I know they scrapped the whole platform to to get rid of those issues, but I am curious to see how it turns out business wise. Windows Mobile has already dropped to 4th in market share in the US. I left the Touch Pro 2 for the Evo.
I hope its not too late! I like the option of a Windows phone to edit, sync and transfer files between my PC and my Macbook with a windows compatible software. I can’t do that with the I phone and I was told there was Android software that would allow me to edit for a price. Well I’ve used the 6700, 6800 and now the Pro 2 and I know how that software works. I just don’t want to spend a few hundred to find out it does not work any better.
Then we have the additional expense of the Evo, which I passed on. Forty bucks a month to have it work as a hotspot that only works when I’m not using the phone! Well I’m already paying $209 for the ultimate data plan, split between 4 phones. I’m trying to cut my expenses and the Evo sounded like it would cost me more.
So will there be WP7 software to improve my operating system for the Pro 2?
