Pocketnow has an image it says might be the rumored new Nexus line of tablet.

Take a look and see if you think it’s a sure fake or if it’s the real thing. The debate rages as to whether it’s Samsung or Asus, 7.7″ or 10″.

When Google does actually drop the Nexus tablet, it might be some good competition for the iPad that has dwarfed the industry. As you can see from the image it has all google apps and no indication as to any proprietary apps from a different vendor. It also is plainly running ICS. We’ll soon see when the tablet is actually released.

*4G/LTE capable on Verizon and AT&T, and of course HSDPA and HSPA+

*5MP rear camera with “advanced optics,” all the others sensors and such, and 1080p HD recording.

*A5X dual-core CPU with a quad-core GPU means 4x the graphics performance and a faster chip while maintaining the same battery life

*Retina display at 2048×1536 means everything looks more crisp and clear and movies are going to look awesome on 3.1 million pixels.

*Form factor remains identical to the iPad2

You can get the 16GB WiFi model for $499 up to $829 for the 64GB WiFi + 3G/4G model. This also drops the iPad2 price by $100 if you’re looking to get a good deal. You can pre-order the new iPad online right now and be one of the first to own it, iPads generally sell out fast when they get released.

Research In Motion – or blackberry as most of us know has had to cut Jobs by 2,000 people. They did this move to stay current, fresh, and well to stop the bleeding of users not flocking towards their devices. These cuts were the second line of cuts, which were done to help reallocate, and restructure the company.

RIM as you well know has been losing customers by the boat load, flocking towards iPhone, and Android…Why? Simple APPS! RIM has been very slow to adopt new ideas such as apps and UI changes, let alone touchscreen and fast smoother phones.

RIM is hoping to attract users by their new system QNX. You can find the QNX on the sluggish but nice Blackberry tablet. (I know it is sluggish – played with it at Sprint last night). But problem is that most blackberry users like the blackberry for it’s simple and dependable OS, QNX is not tested, and therefore not tried and true.

With more layoffs possible RIM is hoping for a small miracle to get them through, but one thing is for sure, if they don’t change the writing is on the wall. So what are your thoughts PPCG, is Blackberry QNX system the life changing force to save the company? Will it bring RIM back to the front lines of cell phones? Tell me below!

On April 11th 2011, Adobe Systems Incorporated announced the release of Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 and Flex 4.5. Today Adobe has released the updates to the Flash Builder and Flex 4.5 framework including all new tooling and framework support that will enable developers to reuse most or all of their code across applications that target multiple platforms, including Web, desktop, Android, and as of today’s update BlackBerry Tablet OS and iOS.

Building a native application for each of these devices would not have been financially feasible but now moving an application across different mobile platforms often can be as simple as a recompile.

Developing applications on the Adobe Flash Platform enables developers to deliver consistent application experiences across multiple browsers and operating systems. Adobe Flash Platform (Flex & Flash Builder) also provides a common path to creating applications for both desktop and multiple mobile platforms, therefore significantly reducing the time and cost associated with development and testing.

With the greatly increasing use of smartphones and tablets in our daily lives, enterprises now need to ensure that their applications will work seamlessly across many different types of computers and handheld devices. With these latest releases and efforts, Adobe has delivered somewhat of a breakthrough development platform for creating mobile, web and desktop applications.

Benefits of Adobe Flex applications:

Some benefits to developers using Flex:

•	It accelerates development as developers can reuse code.
•	It assists flexible development and provides visual development environment for applications on multiple platforms.
•	Developers can easily build highly interactive web applications.
•	Adobe AIR uses the same proven, cost-effective technologies used to build web applications, so development and deployment are rapid and low risk.

Now let’s take a look at how Adobe Flex applications are good for Business point of view:

•	Adobe AIR offers an exciting new way to engage customers with innovative, branded applications, without requiring changes to existing technology or processes.
•	With the Adobe AIR runtime, businesses can deliver branded rich Internet applications (RIAs) outside the browser that give them a closer connection to their customer.
•	By using Adobe AIR as part of RIA strategy, businesses can boost productivity, extend their market reach, enhance customer satisfaction, improve customer retention, lower costs, and increase profits.

It seems as long as they get it running stable and work with the developers, this could be just what’s needed to help create more quality apps, in a market flooded with useless ones. Not to mention the effect it should have in speeding up the time for apps and games to be released across platforms.

Do you think this is a wise move on Adobe’s part?
How do you feel this will help or hurt the mobile application industry?
Will we see an increase in quality apps on all platforms?
Will this reduce the amount of poorly attempted ported apps we see across platforms nowadays?

Most of us have heard different rumors and positive/negative descriptions of the Blackberry Playbook lately. Amongst these reports, RBC Capital Markets General Manager Mike Abramsky said that the first day of PlayBook sales were indeed successful. He mentioned the sales likely exceeded analysts’ expectations stating that RIM may have moved about 50,000 PlayBook tablets on launch day alone, including pre-order sales.

The analyst and his team did heavy research to come up with the estimated number of around 50,000 sold at launch day. Believe it or not, most of the stores called actually sold out of the Playbook and some are still unable to stock their shelves. Best buy alone holds stock at 180 additional locations in 10 major U.S. cities. They have the 16GB PlayBook listed as unavailable at 13% of stores, while the 32GB model is listed as unavailable at 87% of stores and the 64GB model is listed as unavailable at 91% of the locations viewed.

Abramsky also noted that the PlayBook may have outperformed first-day sales of Motorola’s XOOM and even Samsung’s popular Galaxy Tab. He also believes that RIM is on track to sell 500,000 PlayBook tablets in its first quarter of availability. Does this surprise you or is it what you expected? Let us know what you think.

Several users who purchased one have said great things about it. They love how different the UI is, how fast and smooth it runs as well as how easy it is to hold. Others, maybe those who haven’t even played with one, have negative things to say about it. Did you get one for yourself? We want to know your opinions. Leave your comments in the box below.

Supposedly it will come stock will also be a Blockbuster 3D on demand app as well as YouTube 3D. We will see when the announcement gets here.

Expected specifications of the HTC EVO View include features very similar to the HTC Flyer tablet including a 7-inch 1024 x 600-pixel capacitive touch screen, an aluminium unibody design, HTC Scribe with optional pen support, the latest HTC Sense UI optimized for tablet devices, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, Android 2.3 Gingerbread and a 4000mAh battery and DLNA and HDMI-out support. Remember, specifications aren’t official but you can almost count on them being so.

As we mentioned in a previous article, Sprint is planning to launch their own XOOM tablet. See our previous article for more information.

Sources suggest that Sprint will be announcing quite a few more devices including a Samsung Rant 3, a 3G touch screen messaging device that’s eco friendly and features a solar rechargeable battery door. A BlackBerry PlayBook (Wi-Fi & WiMAX version) are also expected to be announced.

What do you think geeks? Will you get any of these? Is this what Sprint needs to gain back their reputation to the fullest? Do you think this will help? Let us know your thoughts?

Samsung recently posted a brand new advertisement for their original Samsung Galaxy Tab and the video has been spotted on youtube. Last week we reported statements being made by Samsung suggesting changes may be made in prices, competing against the iPad2. They still may be considering those changes as well as rethinking their hardware components. Hopefully they won’t take away anything but make it at a cheaper cost, if possible.

Samsung will be holding an event March 22nd in Orlando at CTIA. Rumor is they will announce several more sizes of the Galaxy Tab “2″ including a 8.9″ version and a 7″ version with Honeycomb could be in the works. The new advertising below is just a tease to get you prepared for what’s to come. We hope you are excited and ready to see what Samsung is bringing to the table in a little over a week!

Knowing how saturated the market is with netbook’s and tablet’s these days, we want to hear your suggestion’s and opinion’s. Are there too many options available that make your decision harder when deciding what to purchase? Or do you feel like you should have several choices available? Either way, the decision’s not always easy for everyone so this article will help those who are currently shopping for one and aren’t sure what to do.

When you begin your search for a cellphone or computer you have several options, we all have been used to that. What we haven’t been used to are so many options when it comes to a netbook or tablet. If you aren’t sure of the difference, let me break it down for you.

A netbook Computer works on the basis of cloud computing and is usually very small in size and light in weight. These devices run Windows or Linux operating systems. A tablet PC is much more similar to your home PC or laptop and run the iPhone or Android operating system’s. I hope this clears up any confusion.

At the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) alone there were over 100 tablets unveiled, some for the U.S and others were for International consumers. However, there are still so many devices available where would you begin to look when you’re completely new to the product line? That’s what I hope to get answers to and maybe in return help those who are in the market for a new tablet know where to look.

Currently we have access to more than one iPad tablet, more than one Android tablet, a Blackberry tablet and also HTC tablets working their way onto the shelves. Forgive me if I missed any. Do these options make you smile and happy to have them or do they confuse you and make you unsure on which one you want. I guess it’s just like buying a phone, you get the one that suits your needs and wants right?

If you were in the market to buy a new tablet and had no clue what you wanted, what would you do? Do you go for looks and style or do you research and learn the specifications first? If you have already purchased one was it a hard decision for you? Did you purchase it because of the manufacturer or did you really compare devices?

If you are looking for tablets and need help, check out this website for starters. It tells you several specifications on more than one. Maybe this will get you started as well as this article and any comments we may get below. Let us know your thoughts!

Tired of your iPad yet? If so, the second one will be announced very soon so maybe you will see new features and updates. If you aren’t tired of yours that’s great, keep it. Apple is holding a special media event on March 2nd, 2011 in San Francisco, according to the Wall Street Journal.

We aren’t sure who will be the speaker of the show as we all know Steve Jobs is on medical leave. Maybe Tim Cook will be the speaker. We will know the day it happens. It doesn’t really matter who’s giving the speech though does it? As long as we get correct information I think things will be fine, don’t you?

So far, analysts expect the iPad 2 to be thinner than the first iPad and feature an improved display, as well as front-facing camera and Facetime video chat support. There is a rumor going around that it may be powered by one of Qualcomm’s multimode chips and will run on both GSM and CDMA-based networks around the world.

Are these features you’d like to see? What other things would you love to have in an iPad 2 that the current one doesn’t support? Leave your comments in the box below.

The days of using remote controls may soon be over. Several smartphones and other devices now have the capability with the use of applications to replace your remote control for your TV. The Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy Tablet are the most recent additions to this new technique.

This Android application does require your TV and the device to be connected on the same Wi-Fi connection where the remote will try to find the TV and add it. Then you are free to use your Samsung Tab or Galaxy phones on-screen QWERTY keyboard, with a 4-way directional pad, to input necessary information for TV functions, control settings and apps on the TV.

TV models supported that we know of so far include: 2010 models supporting Internet@TV (model code ‘C’), LED 6500 Series and higher, LCD 650 Series and higher and PDP 6500 Series and higher. Reports of several 2009 models are working as well.

Download it now here!

The title and image says it all. Google will be giving you an in-depth look at Honeycomb, demo devices and Android’s ecosystem February 2, 2011 at Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, California.

Last week we gave you a review on Honeycomb for tablets found here. Since then, reports of the operating system have gone haywire. There’s so much confusion going on it’s hard to believe what’s right. Maybe this event is going to clear all that confusion up, I sure hope so anyway.

Not only does Sprint have a special announcement coming in February, now HP has something up their sleeve as well. February 9, 2011 at their WebOS event in San Francisco many of us suspect they are going to announce several products, including tablets. Maybe they will officially announce the Topaz or the Opal, two tablets Engadget previously mentioned here.

What’s exciting about the announcement? The email HP sent to attendees asks them to ‘Think Big. Think Small. Think Beyond.’ What do you think about that? It tells me they have a big secret in store! What do you think it could be? What all products do you think HP may have coming up? What sort of announcement do you want to hear? Let us know your thoughts.

Once the announcement is given believe we will be back telling you all about it! For now, discuss in the comment box below.

You’ve been hearing about the CEATEC 2010 event that took place in Japan consisting of several prototypes: robots, cameras, TVs, tablets, cellphones and many more advanced technologies. This is Asia’s largest technology and electronics exhibition held each year. PPCGeeks member gTen has spotted an interesting article at Engadget.com along with other articles we have found around the internet and we’d like to share with everyone here.

WiMAX 2 Mobile Broadband – 330Mbps

The first interesting article from this huge exhibition that we are going to share is what gTen is so excited about. We quote gTen saying “If sprint can roll this out and have Epic 4g and Evo 4g run at 300mbps we will all be in heaven…” Take a look for yourself and see just what comes to mind when you learn more about WIMAX2 mobile broadband (link here).

Fujitsu dual-touchscreen phone like Nintendo DS

Although it’s not a device found in the US, this is a very nice piece of technology. Also found at Engadget (link here) and shown at the CEATEC convention, the Fujitsu dual-touchscreen phone is almost ready for production. It seems that TAT (The Astonishing Tribe), a Swedish mobile UI design company, has teamed up with Fujitsu and created a spectacular, dual-touchscreen phone that will be very popular in the Japanese market. One cool feature is the 960 x 480 resolution displays that are side-by-side and will swivel for multiple formatting options. Watch the video found at Engadget to see this device in action.

Sharp’s Galapagos Android Tablets

Also spotted at the CEATEC convention and articles found at CrunchGear.com (link here) were Sharp’s, as we know it, Galapagos hybrid tablets which also happened to be one of the biggest attractions of the whole exhibition. As far as we know the readers will be available in a 5.5″ as well as a 10.8″ size. December is when Japanese buyers will be able to purchase either tablet but no word yet on international availability.
