WP7 Mango Announced! 500+ Features!

Yes indeed there was a showcasing of WP7 Mango.  It looks to be a really awesome update and appears as if this is the real point where WP7 is on-par with Android and iOS.

Often we have complaints of “Missing Features” in WP7 and while NoDo gave us great speed and stability and added C&P, there was still a little to be desired.  Let’s take a look at some of the great things in store with Mango:

*The first feature showed off was the new tiles notification. The People tile has been extended to work with a variety of new social networks and media, Visual Voicemail will also be available in the live tile. You can now set up groups of people and communication features using groups.

*Typing is improved, especially regarding auto-correct.

*The typing experience has been improved as well, specifically in auto-correct.  You can text, chat, Facebook, Google Chat, all in one thread of conversation.

*You can combine many inboxes into one tile.

*Improvements to various hubs such as photos, Office, Xbox Live etc…

*Multitasking was shown off and it looks smooth and amazing, even on a 3D-accelerated game!  You can actually pause the game and it will resume when you come back to it.

*IE9 was also announced and it even had HTML5 running at 26fps (compared with Android maxing out at 10)

And much more than that.  This looks like the update that might bring WP7 to a whole new level and really entice the masses.  It looks to be what we’ve all been waiting for and is supposedly going to roll out Q3-Q4 2011.
