WebOS 2.0 for the Sprint Palm Pre leaks out!?

Not long ago you may remember Palm promising that webOS 2.0 would not be far away as well as a few new devices. Well the time is here! Going around the web now are pictures of the OS running in beta form on the Sprint Palm Pre. The new Palm Pre’s aren’t available just yet in the US but should be coming very soon! For now, take a look at what you can expect in the updated webOS.

What we expect already:

  • 1 GHz CPU
  • flat glass display
  • better build quality
  • better battery life

What we know has been added:

  • voice dialing
  • preferences for the screensaver-like Exhibition View (only time works right now, but photos, agenda view, and Facebook are all listed)

According to Engadget, this first beta is labeled “HP webOS Nova-Barley” and carries the version number of 2.0.1. Nobody is really sure if this will be officially called 2.0 or 2.1. We will know soon. Once the official OTA update does come out I’m sure the bugs from the beta version will be gone, or so we hope. What most of us really want to hear from Palm is more information on their new devices they were rumored to be working on. Until then, what do you think about this palm users? Will you be looking for a beta version to test on your own Palm Pre?
