Are you one of the fans of no hardware buttons and front facing camera? We know several users here at PPCGeeks who are and thanks to a recent leak from HTC, the images above suggests that may be just what’s going on behind their closed doors right now. HTC is apparently working on this new buttonless, front facing camera device similar to the Desire HD.

Noticeably in the image above you also see the ear piece and edges of the phone have been redesigned. Do you like this look? Seems like we may be going backwards in design but forwards in features? What do you think? Let us hear your thoughts in the comment box below.

Update: The screenshot is of Best Buy’s inventory system, not Telus’. Sorry about that!

An anonymous tipster has sent us this screenshot showing the HTC Desire is now showing up in the <del datetime="2010-07-15T15:40:19+00:00">Telus</del> Best Buy inventory system. The price hasn’t been set yet (thus showing up as $999). There’s also been no official announcement of a release date, but it should be later this month or August.

For those of you that don’t know, the HTC Desire is very similar to the Google Nexus One, except it has an optical trackpad instead of the trackball and SenseUI. Other than that, the specs are nearly identical.

Thanks to Kelly @ BGR for pointing this out. MobileSyrup.com has found what appears to be the pricing for the HTC Desire embedded in the source code on the Telus HTC Desire page. This is by no means official, but it sounds pretty accurate. The pricing shows 1-Year term: $499.95; 2-year term $399.95 and the 3-year term: $299.95.

There is a lot of buzz in the air about some great new Android devices and apps that are in the works and we just knew that there were a few exciting tidbits that our faithful readers would love to know. First up is a new HTC video, which looks to be a promo clip for their latest announced device, the EVO 4G for Sprint. With a 4.3″ screen, snapdragon processor, 3G/4G compatibility and more goodness than you can shake a stick at, the EVO 4G is certain to make even the most hardcore Windows Mobile user consider the switch to Android. Just check out the 1:31 video below to see why the EVO 4G is getting so much hype.

Next up is a little thing that we like to call Skyfire, the widely popular Internet browser currently available for Windows Mobile and Nokia Series 60 phones. Skyfire has announced that they have entered the Alpha stage of testing for their release of Skyfire for Android. They are currently looking for users willing to test their app on devices running Android 1.5 or higher and space is limited. For more information on their Alpha program, and to get on the list to try Skyfire for Android, head over to their site.

Lastly, it is noteworthy to mention that prior to their official release, the HTC Legend and Desire have already been rooted. Root access allows a user to have full access and control over Android’s system files and resources, thereby giving them the freedom to remove carrier bloatware and run apps requiring root access. It is not certain yet how HTC will answer to the root access on the Desire and Legend but rumor has it that they are already looking for a fix.

That’s all the Android news that we have for the moment, but rest assured that our eyes are open for more. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

The Desire is supposedly heading to At&t around May or June and may have some physical difference from the HTC model (finishes, color, etc).

The Hero2 is actually the HTC Legend we’ve heard about, except modified to Sprint’s liking, similar to how the original Hero was. There’s no reported arrival time for this one though, so we’ll have to sit tight and wait.

Today at the World Mobile Congress via Press Release, HTC has announced their latest additions to their family of Android and Windows Phone Products.

Their first set of announcements includes updates to their series of HTC Sense UI system for the Android Operating System. The HTC Sense will feature new products such as The HTC Friend Stream, perhaps containing properties similar to those released and announced by Microsoft in their Windows Phone 7 demos.

Along with the updates to HTC Sense comes two new devices, the HTC Legend and HTC Desire. The HTC Legend is a 3.2 inch AMOLED device that is to be built around their HTC Sense Improvements, utilizing an optical joystick, rather a trackball or D-Pad as seen in previous models.

The HTC Desire is intended to be released as a device for a rich multimedia experience in the form of news, videos, friends, and more. It will be built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, to maintain a high level of speed and functionality. It will have multimedia upgrades to allow a better experience on its 3.7 inch AMOLED WVGA resolution screen. It is also announced to be Adobe Flash 10.1 Ready upon release later this year. Both devices are intended for initial release in Europe and Asia, but there are chances these devices will hop across the ocean sometime in the near future!

Lastly, the biggest release on the Windows Phone end of products for HTC and their press release is the HD Mini (Seen above,) an intended sister product to the HD2, which is an announced windows phone 7 capable device.

The HD mini will feature high levels of usability, including HTC SENSE! That’s right, HTC intends to keep the ball rolling and include their famous UI system, probably now adhering and collaborating with Microsoft’s METRO UI system, which is a standard to their current family of products.

The HD Mini will feature all of the major advantages and releases as announced by Microsoft and their Windows Phone 7 Series, such as pinch to zoom, extreme connectivity to social networking and other products, and have a similar feel and intention like that of the HD2. The HD Mini intends to hit European Markets this April, and perhaps then reach the American shores by X-Mas

This was brought to you direct from HTC, stay tuned for more exclusive news as MWC rolls on!

Droid is not just a phone; it’s a series of phones. In fact, it is the name for Verizon’s entire Android phone selection. What is the real name of the phone we have been calling “Droid” you ask? It is known as “The Sholes”, although it may simply be called Droid by everyone else. Another one of the Droid phones is the “Droid Eris” – -A phone that HTC calls the HTC Desire. We can expect to see the Eris on November 6th.
