Previously this week PPCGeeks wrote a couple of articles stating how some analysts weren’t too sure that WP7 would be a success. Finally we found a different, much better opinion. Following Microsoft’s live conference in New York City on WP7, given by CEO Steve Ballmer, DailyTech has written up a nice, positive review on WP7 and pointed out lots of key points that may lead to WP7’s success.

DailyTech states their opinion is that after seeing the WP7 in action and comparing the experience to Android, iOS, and BlackBerry OS, they strongly feel the that WP7 has the potential to do very well. DailyTech continues on saying that it may be too early to say for sure, but Microsoft’s decision to redesign the interface from the ground up seems like a wise decision. Considering the stale Windows Mobile 6.5, the company now has a fast, intuitive-seeming interface laid over a solid set of hardware as well as software.

Who will have the CDMA devices first? We aren’t sure of that but we do know that in the U.S. AT&T and Sprint have already confirmed they will be launch partners. No word yet on when Verizon Wireless will begin carrying these devices. Rumor is that the CDMA WP7 devices will launch on November 8th and most will be available for the price of $199.99 with new 2-year contract. Take a guess at who will get it first and see if you are right when it happens.

Last week we shared an article on how Gartner research company was in doubt about WP7 being successful overall. Sadly, they aren’t the only ones. Other opinions are being spotted and were here to share them. Thanks to member darren.wlsn1 here at PPCGeeks for pointing this article out that is originally from PCMag.com.

Recently one of PCMag’s reporters found time and a place to ask Andy Rubin, the leader of the Android Project and Vice President of engineering at Google, several questions pertaining to his opinions of the new WP7 platform and Androids as well.

Reviewing the interview comments, it seems that Rubin is a little worried about WP7 succeeding in the current phone industry, which is for the most part dominated by Android already. He states that he is very satisfied with the current flow and production of the Android platform. The many software versions available and updated releases keep consumers understanding and appreciating the main differences between each new release even more.

As far as Rubin’s opinion on WP7, with Android being so successful he is not sure that the world will even need another platform, especially if there aren’t major differences that this device can do compared to Android devices. He does however think it’s great for consumers to be able to have a selection of platforms to chose from.

If WP7 would target the devices performance at things other devices don’t do, maybe Rubin’s & consumers’ opinions would be different. What do you think? Will WP7 be successful?

While several users eagerly await the release of WP7, industry analysts at Gartner, Inc., the world’s leading information technology research and advisory company, are predicting that WP7 will fail to increase Mircrosoft’s market share.

According to Pocketnow and Informationweek, Gartner research company is predicting that the new WP7 platform will have a very small impact on Microsoft’s market share overall. Although Gartner suspects the platform will help bump Microsoft’s share of the worldwide market from 4.7% in 2010 to 5.2% in 2011, they also suspect Microsoft’s company’s share will ultimately decline to just 3.9% by 2014.

While we can’t say that the outcome will be exactly what Gartner is predicting, we can try out the device ourselves and then have a better opinion and reason to speak up on their research. PPCGeeks would like to see this research information proven wrong!!
