Starting today, Verizon has made more inductive wireless charging battery covers available for a list of some of their top devices including the already released cover for the HTC Thunderbolt.

Here are the devices that now have inductive charging backs available and links for each:

•	DROID3
•	Thunderbolt
•	Charge
•	Incredible 2
•	Revolution
•	Charge Pad

The LTE covers are a little more costly than the rest and the charging pad will set you back approximately $70. Considering that once you buy the pad, it will charge any device you have that uses this same technology, it may well be worth it for you. I know I am tired of the multiple docks, chargers, and cords I have around my desk area.

With many users owning more than one mobile phone, internet-enabled device, tablet, laptop, portable music and video players, the resulting tangle of wires and bulky chargers is ugly, frustrating and can be very inconvenient. The constant usage of charging connectors also lowers charging reliability due to the potential for corrosion and breakage.

With a universal wireless power charging standard, electronic products and charging stations using the same standard will recognize each other and charge.
Different brands and different devices can then re-charge using the same type of battery and share the same charging station.

What are your thoughts on this upcoming technology?
Is this the way of the future, or a trend that will pass?
Will you be picking up a charge pad and battery cover for any of your devices on the list?
Or have you tried this technology out in the past, on the HD2 or Evo, or any other device that has already begun to support this technology?

Verizon HTC Thunderbolt owners have been frustrated about random reboots, battery life, and GPS lock times, along with other issues, since release. The first update cured some of these issues, but some still remain. Well there are now some new signs pointing to an update for June 30th and with Gingerbread in tow. At least that’s what these new leaked images show us.

We know that a fix was is in the works, and it was supposed to come during the second half of June. However, we hadn’t heard any other info about the OTA update, except that MR2 was rumored to have been delayed a bit longer, as has been the case with most every announcement surrounding this device, since we first heard about it.

Well, It seems that this is not just a maintenance release, as has been expected. The leaked document shows some impressive additions to the upcoming update, including features like:

•	Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread
•	pre-installed Amazon Appstore
•	Skype video functionality
•	gTalk video compatibility (which comes default with Android 2.3.4)

So it would appear we have quite an impressive update to look forward to.
Not only do we now have more details, but we have a date to expect it.
So if things stay on schedule, we should be expecting to have access to this update as of June 30th.

What are your thoughts on this update?
Is this a believable document and release date?
Are you excited to officially be getting Gingerbread for your HTC Thunderbolt?

Anyone tired of waiting for the HTC Multimedia docking station for their Thunderbolt? Well if you are tired of the wait and are willing to use a third party docking station, relief is on its way! Deluxe Desktop Charging Dock and Sync is currently the leading in dock among third party vendors.

With its sleek design, functionality, and small size, users are highly pleased. This docking station features rounded corners, a mixture of shiny and dull black plastic, and is pretty lightweight yet durable. The phone sits sideways on the station putting your phone into landscape mode which is excellent for browsing the web, looking at pictures, watching movies and lots more.

This slender docking station is accompanied by all the necessary cables (micro USB and a wall outlet) allowing the user the choice of where you dock your phone. Whether you want to hook it to your desktop or the wall. The choice is yours!

The drawback? This station will only fit phones that use the standard battery door. So if you are rocking out with the extended battery, this isn’t the docking station for you.

But for those of you out there rocking the HTC Thunderbolt, this might just be a must have!

Most of us know today is the day! Will you or have you already gotten your hands on one? The Verizon Wireless stores are packed and that’s a good sign. Maybe the LTE launch with the Thunderbolt will be a successful one. Time will tell.

Did you patiently wait for this day to come? As we mentioned in the article previously, the phone is selling with a $249.99 price tag. The LTE data will be the same rate as the current 3G devices, $29.99 per month for unlimited usage. That’s what most of us can be even more excited about! No higher prices, well as of now. Some say that may change but Verizon Wireless hasn’t said it yet.

Let us know if you got one what you think in the comments boxes below. If you aren’t getting one, why? We want to hear your thoughts.

HTC recently posted an update to Facebook that gives you a little more hope. There was no official release date announced but once again they say it’s coming soon. The rumors suggest that there may have been battery life issues, software issues or more which is the reason we are still waiting. Verizon actually said they never promised a release date so this makes us all wonder what’s really going on.

Sources received an email from an HTC employee that we have posted below. Looks like the real problem is with the newly launched LTE network. See the email below:

Dear XXXXXX,
I understand the importance of having the latest devices on the market. The reason behind the delay in releasing the HTC Thunderbolt is due to the new technology it is running on, LTE. As with all new technologies we and Verizon would like to ensure that the systems work prior to releasing a new product. This is further explained here: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/btl/verizon-cto-were-working-through-lte-smartphone-issues/45789?tag=content;search-results-rivers. I do apologize for any inconvenience that you may have experienced and I am sorry to hear that you will not be purchasing the HTC Thunderbolt.
To send a reply to this message or let me know I have successfully answered your question log in to our ContactUs site using your email address and your ticket number 11USCW11ENA002273.

Sincerely,
Jeffery

HTC

Are you waiting on this phone to hit the shelves? I know of several folks who are and it really is a pain when you expect something and it doesn’t happen. All we can do is wait for the final day it’s released and from now on, ignore rumors if it’s not from the company themselves.

Several Verizon Wireless customers are patiently waiting for the Thunderbolt release, some not so patiently. We’ve all been hearing about the 4G LTE smartphone’s that were on track to be released in the first half of 2011. We’ve also been hearing about the dates being pushed back for the devices to officially launch, the Thunderbolt being the first.

This article doesn’t give you any specific reasons as to what’s taking so long, but it does assure you they are working hard to get the device released so you can see what other 4G phones will be available next.

Tony Melone, Verizon’s chief technology officer, said 4G Long Term Evolution smartphone’s are still on track to be launched in the first half and that the company is working through the issues of launching devices on new technology. What’s taking so long!?! People you have to consider that Verizon is working with new technologies and they always seem to pose new problems, well most of the time. They didn’t say it would be an easy ride.

Below is what Tony Melone had to say:

I guess our expectations change, but we had said first half of this year at CES, quite frankly, we think that exceeded people’s expectations. A year ago, people didn’t believe that there would be LTE smartphones in 2011. First half of the year is what we promised; first half of the year is still on track. So we don’t believe there are any new or surprising issues. I think what we’re facing is what you would expect, and that is a new technology, you are working through issues. And we anticipated that, and we are pleased at how we are working through issues. And as I said, you are going to see LTE smartphones on the network as promised, before the first half — before the second half of the year, by the end of the second quarter.

Does this calm your nerves any? Are you one of the ones waiting and getting impatient? Let us know what you think may be the specific reasons for the delay. Please leave your comments in the box below.

Android Central has gotten their hands on proof that the HTC Thunderbolt will support simultaneous Voice and data, meaning you can browse the web while in a call. Yes, you will be able that is! Remember that’s only where 4G is available. This was one of the main questions AT&T customers wanted to know and from what I hear, if Verizon got it, they’d consider switching. Well, it’s happening so what’s going to happen now?

What nobody knows yet is when this device will be available? When the date is realeased we will be back to let you all know. For now, leave us your comments in the box below and let us know how you feel about this.

The HTC Thunderbolt has been a hot topic and one of the most anticipated devices for Verizon Wireless and their customers recently. Well, it just got hotter! Finally, the International CES tradeshow has given us the facts, photos and videos we’ve all been waiting for. This is one sexy beast I must say and something that Verizon has been needing since Sprint released the EVO! Would you agree or disagree?

You all may already know the Thunderbolt is HTC’s first LTE device described as “blazingly fast.” Just to give an example we have taken what CNET said and we quote:

“We were impressed at just how fast it pulled up CNET’s full site and played video. On other devices we’ve tested, it usually takes around 20 to 30 seconds to load CNET’s page, but it was up and running within a few seconds on the Thunderbolt. Videos also buffered and played within a couple of seconds with no interruption.”

Here are a few specifications:

4.3-inch Super LCD display

WVGA (800×480) pixels

1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8655 processor

front-facing video camera

HD video capture

kick stand on back of device

8-megapixel camera

HTC Sense with Android 2.2

Skype video chat

8GB of on-board storage

768 RAM memory card

preinstalled with 32 GB microSD

1,400mAh lithium ion battery

Take a look at the video below of the HTC Thunderbolt from CNET to hear all about the specs on this phone! You’ll enjoy it as much as I did I’m sure.

This is all we have for you now! We are just waiting on the official release date. For now they are saying mid-year so we hope that gets here quick!! Let us know what you think. Do you like this phone? Does the processor bother you? We want to know!
