Posted on behalf of Phillip D. Eenigenburg

In order to really review the Seidio Active case for the iPad 2, I actually need to review it three different ways:

1. As a fully-enclosed and complete iPad-body shell: When fully covered using the Seidio case as a front-and-back cover when the iPad is not in use, the case is absolutely perfect. It puts about a half-inch of air space between the screen and the screen-side of the case and almost gives the whole thing a “Panasonic Toughbook” feel. It turns the normally sleek and sexy-looking iPad into looking like it could survive a 10-story freefall unharmed (Do not attempt, I’m just saying it makes the iPad look indestructible). The best part of this application of the case is the circle-window on the back for the Apple logo. Very cool.

2. As a hard case for the back and edges while iPad is in use: When you remove the front cover to actually use the iPad (which is why you have an iPad anyway), you will find that it can be a tedious couple of seconds trying to remove the front cover. It’s not that it’s difficult, but if it is to stay on properly when used as a fully-enclosed case, it can’t just fall off easily. Once you remove the front cover, you can either set it aside during handheld iPad use, or you can snap it onto the outside of the back cover. That’s what I prefer. It snaps easily onto the back cover and gives you even more grippable surface on the perimeter of the iPad, which is clutch for a guy like me with huge hands.

3. The third way to use this case is to utilize the removed front cover as a desk or tabletop stand for the iPad and back cover. The inside of the front cover contains a flip-out stand that gives you a surface to lean your iPad anywhere from almost-flat to almost-upright. It will hold up the iPad in either landscape or portrait format, whichever you need. The flip-out stand is a little tricky to pop in and out of its storage position, but I imagine it gets easier with use.

Thank you Seidio for giving us the opportunity to review this case for our readers!

Recently, I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to test out the latest in Seidio’s line of powerful, protective cases for the various fragile and injury-prone devices by Samsung, HTC, and other big Smartphone manufacturers. Today I took a look at the Seidio Innocase Surface for the new Samsung EPIC 4G smartphone.

For starters, I just got back from a trip to the mountainous of Utah. The case held up decently but there comes a point when your phone is tumbling down the mountain trail, banging against dirt, rocks and other debris, when it’s time to choose something with a little more protection. Despite this, it held up just fine when used under normal conditions (such as at the home or office). It isn’t made of super strength alloy or titanium but it sure gets the job done in the end without adding an uncomfortable amount of bulk. One advantage wherever you are is the sleek, rubberized “surface” it’s given for that extra strong grip, hence the name of the product.

Applying it takes a little bit of effort with the interlocking tabs, try not to remove it too often as it feels like it’s made to stay in use rather than to be constantly taken off. Still, I recommend this product highly for the everyday user, as it completed a rigorous amount of testing and is still standing strong. The only thing to look out for is the inner surface, which may scratch your phone accidentally due to the tough interior.

This product is a strong combination of tough, reliable, and high quality. Just what you’d expect from such a case.

This case retails for 29.99 and we thank Seidio for giving us the opportunity to review it. Feel free to pick it up from Seidio Directly (link here)

If you frequently visit this site, then I’m sure you’ve heard of Seidio by now. They make tons of accessories for our favorite smartphones, ranging from extended batteries to cases. Today I got the opportunity to review the Seidio Innocase II Surface for the Sprint HTC Evo 4G.

I previously had the Body Glove case, which can be purchased at a Sprint store. They each have their own unique style and design, and they both have their own pros and cons. We’ll mainly be focusing on the Innocase today though.

First of all, it has Seidio’s common 2 part design, the top and bottom. You slide one part on the top of the phone and the other over the bottom, then they snap together. They do stay together and haven’t come apart on me yet. It offers good protection around the edges and back of the phone, but nothing for the screen. Most cases for touchscreen devices don’t offer protection for the screen anyway, but some do come with a screen protector.

It offers a better grip than the phone by itself by having a soft coating while still offering protection.

It doesn’t really get in the way of any buttons, but it does make the power button a little difficult to press since the case is close to it. It also doesn’t block any ports or sensors.

For about $25, its not a bad case at all and offers about the same amount of protection as most other cases in its class. For those needing more protection, there are other cases out there, but they usually add more bulk. This is great for those that don’t want to add more bulk but want to add some protection.

There’s been some reports of people getting scratched Evo’s with this case, but Seidio redesigned the case to prevent this from happening. If you have one of the original cases, its recommended that you contact them for a replacement. Since I only had this case for a couple of days, I didn’t notice any scratching with mine and it had a tight fit, so I believe its the newer design. The inside is made of the same material as the outside and there’s a felt padding in the middle of both pieces.

If you don’t already have a case or have one you’re not satisfied with, I would highly recommend giving this one a try.

Find it at the PPCG store today!

Published on behalf of Wideawake.

Many HTC Incredible users aren’t happy with their battery life while using the OEM battery provided by HTC. After seeing many complaints, users are saying the battery is not so incredible. This has lead me to find a solution to these complaints. I, PPCGeeks Owner, Wideawake have personally taken time to compare the OEM battery and a Seidio battery provided by our Mobihand Store on PPCGeeks.com. Below are the details of the tests I ran with each battery.

In my testing I found that the Seidio battery lasts 4 hours longer than the OEM battery. The reason for this is because of the mAh (milliampere-hour) size of each battery. Physically the batteries are the same size. The difference between the two batteries is that the OEM battery from HTC has 1300 mAh, while the Seidio battery from Mobihand has 1750 mAh. Functionally speaking, the Seidio battery lasted 12 hours and 43 minutes while the OEM battery only lasted 8 hours and 22 minutes.

Breakdown of usage concludes: (Tests were ran at 14% battery life left)

OEM Battery Usage
21% Google Maps
21% Call Standby
19% Android System
14% Phone Idle
11% Camera
8% Display
4% Voice Calls
2% Dialer

Seidio Battery Usage
20% Google Maps
19% Call Standby
19% Android System
14% Phone Idle
12% Camera
7% Display
4% Voice Calls
2% Dialer
3% Wifi

In my conclusion I found that the Seidio battery wins over the OEM battery. This is a major difference in the battery longevity. The Seidio has the potential of being the number one battery for this device. This Innocell Extended Life Battery is designed for the customer who needs extra life, but doesn’t want to add any thickness to their device.

To take a look at this battery or purchase it from our store, please click here.

With the release of the Touch Pro 2, users are frantically looking for ways to protect their product. While holsters do a great job of offering mobility, they don’t do justice for when the device is actually in your hands being used. Most of the time this is when the phone may drop, or get scratched, making you wish you’d want to jump off a bridge for damaging your phone.

Finding hard cases to protect your phone isn’t that difficult. Ebay has a large collection, although most of the time, result in a low quality feel and doesn’t always fit that well. Thankfully Seidio has expanded their line-up of Touch Pro 2 accessories with their latest offering, the Seidio Innocase Surface, which provides an amazing layer of protection without added bulk.
Continue reading for the full review.

The Look:
The Innocase Surface currently comes in black, which thankfully is the color of most of our devices, so worrying about a mis-match in color is not an issue here. The Innocase Surface comes in two-pieces. One to clip on the back of your device and one to cover the front half.

The front clip is very well designed. Most hard cases are well… Hard!. The front clip on this product is very flexible. Why is this important? Well for one thing, you don’t have to worry about the stiffness causing the piece to crack in certain areas if removing it from your phone, or while putting it on.

The back clip is a little more sturdy as its a full cover design. Looking at the back clip, you will notice that it is specifically designed at heart towards our Touch Pro 2’s. There is a nice cut out on the top half for the sleep button on the device, a cut out at the bottom of the device for the stylus, usb jack and 3.5mm headphone jack. Adding to that, Seidio has also supplied the cut out for the nice wrist strap feature on the phone. On the back of the case, there is also a cut out for the camera, dual speakers and microphone switch.

Seidio has definitely done a great job with the look of the case. The soft rubberized finish blends in very well with the device, and it doesn’t look tacky.

The Feel:
Applying the case to your device is very simple. Simply apply the back piece to the back of your phone, you will hear about 4-5 clicks as it’s clipping properly to your phone. Proceed to do the same with the front piece and voila! Your done.

Well, how does it feel when it’s on the phone? Many can argue that the Touch Pro 2 is already a bulky device to hold. Why add more thickness to the device? The Seidio Innocase Surface is designed from a high quality polycarbonate plastic that measures only 1MM in thickness. Holding the phone with the cover in place doesn’t change the experience of your phone at all. There is absolutely no added bulk to the device.

The finish on the cover is exceptional. It has a soft, rubberized finish which allows the user to have a better grip on the device while using it.

Using the device while having the keyboard slid-out is also a non-issue with the case. Seidio has done a great job having a specific cutout along the edge, therefore the device still maintains its tilt feature, allowing the user to use their device to the full advantage.

Conclusion:
Many companies out there that design accessories for our devices, although do a great job, sometimes lack in certain areas. Seidio has been offering accessories for over five-years now and the quality is definitely shown with their latest offering. The Seidio Innocase Surface is highly recommended for users who are looking to have some added protection for their devices. The Seidio Innocase Surface is currently available for all customers and can be purchased for $29.95USD

Overall, it’s definitely the best solution for protecting your device for years to come.

Head on over to SeidioOnline.com to purchase your Innocase Surface today!

Review Rating: 5 out of 5

I had the opportunity to review the Seidio Innocell 2000mAh Extended Battery for the Touch Pro (my At&t Fuze). While unpacking the battery and battery cover, I noticed the cover had the “rubbery” feel of the European covers and not the slick back the At&t Fuze came with. I prefer the European cover, and I actually ordered one shortly after I bought my Fuze.

After putting the battery in and putting the cover on, I noticed that it wasn’t a perfect fit, but its pretty close. The edges hang over just a tad, but not enough to be annoying.

As the store states, it does add about 2-3mm to the back of the phone, but its really not too bad. It doesn’t feel quite as nice in the hand as it did with the original back, but that’s expected when you buy these extended batteries.

In the battery package, it states that it will take 5-6 full charge/discharge cycles to calibrate the battery. When putting it in the phone, it came with a 50% charge and it states to fully charge it before using it. I had my phone on, but plugged in for a good 4 hours before I took it off the charger.

Read on for my usage experience!

Since everybody’s usage varies, here is my average use for comparison:
-Full HSDPA (3G) signal at work (8 hours of the day)
-HSDPA the whole car ride home
-Switching between 3G and Edge at home
-Bluetooth on 24/7, but only connected to a headset while in the car
-30-60 minutes worth of talk time per day
-10-20 texts per day
-Connected to Exchange 2007 push email 24/7 and receive about 10-30 emails per day (set to download upon arrival and download full email without images)

Outside of those stats, I rarely use the internet or use the phone for much else. I would say maybe 30-60 minutes of internet usage per day, if any.

While I haven’t done the 5-6 full charge/discharge cycles yet, I can already see a difference in battery life. After taking my phone off the charger at 7am yesterday, by 11pm I was down to 70%. I actually used my phone more than my description above (more phone calls and text messaging) because of the PPCGeeks site issues, so I was really impressed. The stock battery would have definitely been dead (or close to it) after that much usage.

Overall, if you’re a really heavy user and can’t get through a half a day on a stock battery, then this will probably get you through a day, or close to it. If you’re a mild user, like myself, then you should be able to get 2+ days easily.

I give this a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5, with its only fault being the battery cover fit as described above. In my opinion, its well worth the $55.

Buy it at the PPCGeeks Store here!
