A contact of ours (Whom asked to remain anonymous in this scenario) happened to take a quick sneak at the HTC Surround and Samsung Focus, two upcoming Windows Phone 7 devices for American release in just three days. As a result, he sneaked these pics. See more below, including a full plethora of shots!

The phones themselves look promising, with a look of Dolby Mobile on the HTC Surround, and an AMOLED screen on the Focus. Specs both are not bad, the 5MP camera a standard to WP7 and expected. Screen sizes look nifty and we can’t wait to see what else this means! More photos below!

Available sometime in November for $199.99 with new 2-year contract at AT&T is the Samsung Focus Windows Phone 7 device. Some sites are reporting that release date is the 8th while others are reporting it will be the 20th. We aren’t sure who is right just yet. This will be one of few WP7 devices they carry that also has a Super-AMOLED screen but their very first Samsung version of this platform.

If you are a huge iPhone fan and want a device that compares to it, you may want to try this one. The Samsung Focus is almost as thin as the iPhone 4 and with the Super-AMOLED display looks very similar as far as screen resolution goes. A piece of glass tops the display, which is wrapped in a glossy bezel that’s trimmed with metallic accents. The Focus is very light weight and packed full with very powerful hardware.

Specifications:

4.0-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen WVGA (800 x 480)

1 GHz Qualcomm® Snapdragon processor

5 Megapixel camera with LED Flash

720p HD video capture

8 GB of internal memory

microSD card slot, expandable to 32 GB

WiFi (B/G/N)

Windows Phone 7

Pros:

Very slim and super sexy

Bright Super AMOLED display

Dedicated camera shutter button

MicroSD card slot can top up internal storage to 40GB

Responsive UI

Crisp text and graphics

Hot-swappable SIM card

Quick-start camera for capturing fleeting moments

Cons:

Slippery

MicroSD card slot isn’t swappable

Lack of cut/paste functionality (coming in early 2011)

No WiFi hotspot feature (yet)

Lack of Twitter integration

Finicky Google integration

No unified inbox or threaded email

Apps don’t persist in the background

Video review of ATT’s Samsung Focus done by Intomobile:

Although there seem to be a few bugs Microsoft needs to work out such as no twitter integration and lacking the copy and paste options, we really hope these features change before the official launch of WP7 on the CDMA networks. After reading the specifications on this device and watching the review, what are your thoughts? Would you consider getting one of these if you have an iPhone already? We want to know!
