END OF UPDATE

Deploying LTE

As most of you have heard, Verizon Wireless will be the first in the U.S. and among the first in the world to launch LTE, starting with 25 to 30 markets in 2010, covering approximately 100M people; and extending to cover our current 3G footprint in 2013. Surprisingly, during last nights football games Verizon ran a commercial confirming the release of LTE would be by December of 2010.

Verizon Wireless plans on utilizing its nationwide swath of their own contiguous 700 MHz spectrum to deploy the LTE/4G network. This spectrum covers the entire lower 48 states plus Hawaii, as well as giving Verizon Wireless customers the nationwide bandwidth and coverage they need, when and where they need it without any hassles.

See the commercial clip below in case you missed it during Sunday nights football game.
