According to a few users at XDA, owners of the TMobile G2 handset began getting a possible “test” over-the-air update yesterday that reportedly enables Wifi calling, tethering, an update to google goggles and also hotspot capability. We aren’t certain that these are all of the updates or that all users will be receiving it as of yet because it’s only been reported by a few people so far. As soon as we hear of more detailed information we will let you know.

It seems that this would be impossible knowing that the G2 can’t be kept permanently rooted. Then again, when you are the company that manufactures the device, there just may be no limits as to what they can do OTA. Do you own this device? Did you receive any updates? If so, share your experience with us.
