Star Legends: Verizon Exclusive MMORPG Limited Beta

Following in the footsteps of Pocket Legends’s previous success, Spacetime Studios is preparing to release Star Legends: The Blackstar Chronicles as an iOS, Android, and eventually as a PC title with similar features but a different theme. A limited beta of the upcoming MMORPG from Spacetime Studios will be arriving exclusively in the Verizon V Cast Market very soon. It’s not clear why Verizon got the exclusive on this, but the obvious guess would be their LTE market size and the fact that they have both the iPhone and many Android handsets. Unfortunately iOS players, you won’t be able to join in on the fun until it’s out of beta, due to Apple not supporting limited releases.

For those of you who aren’t on Verizon, Spacetime Studios will be giving away some beta keys through select gaming sites by way of contests and giveaways. So you will still have a chance to win a beta key and get in on the action.

The developer promises frequent updates just like with Pocket Legends, where approximately once a month the game will receive new campaigns, level cap raises, and other sorts of in-game updates. The iOS and Android versions should both be in full swing in July. With a PC version as well, which will make The Blackstar Chronicles the first PC MMO to share servers with iOS and Android players all at the same time, or at all for that matter.

The team behind Spacetime was employed by NCSoft (Lineage, City of Heroes) in 2005, to work on PC game projects including Star Legends: The Blackstar Chronicles.
Unfortunately, Blackstar never saw the light of day, due to NCSoft’s apparent lack of interest in a sci-fi based game. Spacetime Studios eventually spun off as an independent company and released Pocket Legends for iOS and Android platforms last year. The title now boasts nearly 4.5 million combined downloads to date, and the company still continues pumping out updates every few days.

If you think you wanna get in the game, start thinking of that username you want, users are already trying to reserve theirs now.

IM+ Pro for WP7 Headed to Market for approval

Recently we did a review of IM+ Pro for Android. On top of that, we have started a giveaway contest for 4 licenses of IM+ Pro for Android. Well, for those of you who are using a WP7 device and have been waiting for IM+ to arrive in the Windows Marketplace, it seems that day is very near.

Shape Services announced earlier today via Twitter and Facebook, that they are now submitting the WP7 version of their application for approval. So, it should not be long, as they are accepting requests now from beta testers, bloggers, and review sites.

Palringo Beta Released For Blackberry OS 5

Palringo, an IM application that can handle multiple IM platforms (such as Facebook Chat, AIM, Yahoo Messenger, etc.), has released a beta build for Blackberry OS 5 for testing. A member of the PPCGeek’s community, Brol1k, has a thread set up for feedback to be forwarded onto the head of the Blackberry Palringo Development team. Two New Opera Beta Downloads Available

Opera today released two new Beta versions of their popular mobile browsing software, Opera Mobile 10 and Opera Mini 5. The latest Opera Mobile 10 Beta and Opera Mini 5 Beta offer users some of the more popular desktop features, including Opera Link and the Download Manager, on their mobile phone. Opera Link allows a user to synchronize with the Opera desktop browser to share all personal settings such as Bookmarks, Speed Dial and search engines across multiple platforms and systems. The Download Manager will allow a user more control over their downloads and promises that the Download Manager will also speed up the overall download process to mobile devices. Opera has also worked on making the browsing experience more unified with the same look and feel across all devices.

Office Mobile 2010 Beta Shows Up In Marketplace

Office Mobile 2010 Beta has appeared in the Microsoft Marketplace. It has a timebomb that will expire on April 5, 2010. It will uninstall any previous versions of Office Mobile as well, however, it does state that if Office Mobile came pre-installed on your device that it will not be affected.

Opera Mobile 10 Beta Released

Opera has released a public beta of its Opera Mobile 10 browser. So far reviews seem to be pretty good, with people saying its rendering almost as fast as Opera Mini, and the fact that it has some nice, improved zooming features.

Since its still a beta, there are bound to be some bugs. Here’s the list of improvements from Opera:
