It’s not the official updated version but it’s close enough, especially if you are getting impatient waiting for the new Android Market update. Found at Android Developers blog you get a full description of what’s to come in this update as far as new things and improvements. Found at XDA you can try and get yourself the ripped APK and see what you think, if you’re successful. Some seem to be having trouble making it work while a few report it’s working fine.

If you can wait, we’d probably suggest waiting until the official release if you aren’t sure how to install this file. We’ve just heard that Google is supposed to release the official update within the next 2 weeks. Fingers crossed!

Android Market (2.2.6) features include:

• Max size for files increased to 50MB
• Refund window is 15 minutes (some aren’t too happy about this)
• New carousel with featured apps
• New Widgets and Live Wallpapers added
• Related content added to app page
• Single page app viewing, all info in one place
