1) Website- I see a lot of developers that have a single blog page for all their apps. Look at the format of google play and match your website as close as you can to what google play has. Why? Customers are use to a certain format and like things that look familiar . Think like a customer when building a website and put the same effort as you were in programming your apps.

2)Social Networking-Make a twitter and facebook account. Any app release you have or updates post them. You can even interact with customers and get feedback directly from them. Use this as a tool to learn from real people and adjust your game or app based on feedback.

3)Make Niche Apps- There is no way indie developers can match the power of big companies. Rather than try to take on gameloft or EA focus on niche apps. Small apps like car locators or how to cook books. Small apps like these have been know to get more downloads vs making a game going against a bigger company. Small focused apps or simple games with great graphics can draw people to your app.

4)Post in Forums- Post your game or app in several forums. Be careful as many forums are not really indie friendly. Most forums have a section where you can post games or apps away from where regular forum users cant see. Also you might run into jealous developers who have nothing better to do then degrade your game. Post in several forums to bring in users but remember this is only a small part of your marketing efforts. This forums is very developer friendly though.

5)Rate Me Button- In your apps your should have a rate me button and a googleplay button that points to only your apps in google play. You can also have a button to your website to give the customer a more personal touch.

6) Paid vs. Free- I would suggest you make 4 to 5 free apps before making a paid app. Most customers do not want to pay and only enjoy free apps.

Amid pressure from users going on twitter and throwing racial slurs to people on facebook attacking flappybird game with I hate flappybird groups, Dong Nguyen had enough. There were even app's that attacked flappbird , like the flappybird smash game on android. Other developers saying he made the flappybird smash as a double dip , making money off the fan's that didnt like the original game.

After news broke out about flappybirds exit , people took to ebay and starting selling iphones and ipods with flappybird installed for $1,000 a phone. One phone was reportedly sold for $7,700 dollars which is extremely hard to believe. It seems like everyone wanted to cash in on the flappybird legend before it fades. Personally think the developer should have not caved into pressure and kept the game up. Dong Nguyen is still a happy man making $50,000 a day in AD revenue from flappybird and he kept his other apps on the marketplace as well.

Ever since Nintendo stock holders told Nintendo chief's to start looking at mobile as an option bloggers everywhere have started false rumors that Nintendo will be releasing games or tablets for the Android OS. Officially Nintendo only said it will look into it's options on mobile platform's. The wild stories out there have even been promoted by blogs that usually don't go for stories like this, which in turn made rumors spread throughout the internet on facebook and twitter.

Nintendo's stance has always been to keep Super Mario Bros,Zelda,Metriod, and other 1st party IP on Nintendo hardware only. The only way to currently recieve Nintendo games on android is emulators , which you can find online and on the appstore. You will also find mini-games based on Nintendo charactors online also as a native solution if you don't like emulators. There will be no Nintendo made Super Mario Bros game on Android devices , as Nintendo says the brand will be diluted if it's put on devices that are not properly equipped to play such games.

The countdown is over. See our updates below for the IPhone 5 specifications.

There are rumors already circling stating that it’s just going to be called the iPhone 5. Do you think so? We will find out shortly for sure. There have been numerous leaks ahead of Wednesday’s event, from individual components like screen size guestimates and dock plugs to full-fledged prototypes of the iPhone. Of course, all of these remain suspect until Apple makes it official. Some leaks even suggest that there will be new lineups for the Apple iPod but we don’t know for sure until about another hour and a half.

The press conference, which is expected to bring Apple’s next iPhone, takes place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in downtown San Francisco and kicks off at 10 a.m. Pacific. CNET just so happens to be there and they have created a live blog for you to follow. Click here to see the blog updates. They will also be running live commentary from editors Molly Wood, Brian Tong and Donald Bell beginning at 9 a.m. PT. Some of you may want to see the live feed from Apple themselves but that’s not going to happen. There’s no live video of the presentation itself, which is the usual for Apple’s events so CNET is helping out by blogging it for us all to see.

To all the Apple lovers, what do you expect to see in the next iPhone? What would you like to see? Are you waiting patiently for the event to start? We sure are and we will be following CNET’s blog to get the best details. After you collect all of the information and feel like you need to share your opinion, come right back here and let’s talk about it. We want to know if you were shocked, surprised, excited etc. How does this big event today make you feel?

Just a couple of days ago Samsung made an announcement in their Press Release of the Samsung Galaxy Note II and created an interesting video for you to watch. Watch the hands on Youtube video by Samsung here. Of course, they did not even mention what carrier may be getting it. We know that T-Mobile has the Samsung Note so will they get it first? Who would guess so? I would. Recently, Samsung also had an event on Facebook called the Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2012 event which includes great topics and facts about what direction they are going in. If you missed the live Samsung mobile unpacked 2012 video, here is a link to it from Facebook.

The press release looks pretty promising but we just wish the date of release was listed. Samsung did say this about US availability:

Samsung Mobile is planning a U.S. version of Galaxy Note II, which will be available later in 2012. Building on the success of the original Galaxy Note, we’re confident that the Galaxy Note II continues to redefine what consumers should expect from their smartphone and delivers a powerful, innovative and unique experience. Exact timing and retail channel availability is not being announced at this time, we will continue to share information as it becomes available.

Below you will find a screenshot of specific details about the Samsung Note II:

Are you one of the consumers still hanging on to that Palm Pre or WebOS device? If so, you may feel like helping the Internals out. They are currently taking donations throughout the next two days. These donations, during what they are calling “The 2012 Web-a-thon,” will be used to support their WebOS Internals with things such as development, testing and many other goodies related to their open source experiments.

Just last year the WebOS community did something very similar and raised a very large sum of $16,699.00. The donations were a great success and helped keep the Internals from having their members pay out of pocket for the tests and other costs they run into while further developing the operating system. If you aren’t sure who the Internals are or what I am referring to I’ll tell you. This group of people use their spare time helping WebOS grow and develop into what it is today. We can refer to them as the masterminds behind WebOS being super fast and functioning the way it does today.

You may be laughing now if you have moved on from WebOS but believe me, there are still users out there who love their devices. We have all seen WebOS struggle throughout the past few years but we also know that they have also performed miracles time and time again. If it weren’t for their users they may not still be here. Those users did not only raised $16,699.00 last year but they are already up to $4,000 so far this year. WebOS and its users are apparently still hanging on.

To make a donation, head over to the WebOS Internals site support page to . If you know someone who loves WebOS, please share the news with them. You never know who may be willing to help and every little bit counts so why not? Do you have a WebOS device? Were you one of the people who donated to their 2011 web-a-thon? If so we would like to know! If you aren’t a member here yet and just stumbled upon this article, join here to give your input.

Today in the technology news section on ABC the International Data Corporation (IDC) reported figures for worldwide smartphone unit sales and market shares in the 2nd quarter of 2012. The IDC is the premier global provider of market intelligence, advisory services, and events for the information technology, telecommunications and consumer technology markets. They gathered the information based on operating systems in the smartphones purchased during this time compared to last year. As you can see in the numbers below Android is still increasing thier unit sales and market shares while Apple seems to have decreased in the last year. Blackberry is still hanging in there at number three and Windows at number five based on their current units sold and percentages of market shares. See the breakdown below.

#1 Android (Google Inc.) — 104.8 million units, 68.1 percent share (46.9 percent a year earlier)

#2 iOS (Apple Inc.’s iPhone) — 26.0 million units, 16.9 percent share (18.8 percent a year earlier)

#3 BlackBerry (Research in Motion Ltd.) — 7.4 million units, 4.8 percent share (11.5 percent a year earlier)

#4 Symbian (mostly used by Nokia Corp.) — 6.8 million units, 4.4 percent share (16.9 percent a year earlier)

#5 Windows (Microsoft Corp.) — 5.4 million units, 3.5 percent share (2.3 percent a year earlier)

#6 Linux — 3.5 million units, 2.3 percent share (3.0 percent a year earlier)

#7+ Others — 0.1 million units, 0.1 percent share (0.5 percent a year earlier)

The figures are a great reminder not only of the most popular devices but they let us keep up with what operating system is being used the most or the least. These are all important factors when it comes to knowing where the current operating systems stand as well as the development of newer technology. The figures show the developers of each operating system and device that they are either doing great, good or have more hard work to do. They can do the math! For you and I this means that we get to, as we always have, learn more with each new device and operating system while having fun at the same time. Surely these numbers come as no surprise to you, right? Let us know what you think!

Rumors are flying that shipments are being held up at customs due to an ITC order that was passed down before the One X was announced at Mobile World Congress by Apple. It is worded as in such a way to can hold up any HTC Android device. The patent in question is the 647 patent which a browsers ability to make an email address or phone number a clickable action for the consumer to use.

Word has it that HTC released the following statement:

The US availability of the HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G LTE has been delayed due to a standard U.S. Customs review of shipments that is required after an ITC exclusion order. We believe we are in compliance with the ruling and HTC is working closely with Customs to secure approval. The HTC One X and HTC Evo 4G LTE have been received enthusiastically by customers and we appreciate their patience as we work to get these products into their hands as soon as possible.

What do you think? Will this affect the pre-orders and in stores stock, just in store stock?

Microsoft is sending out emails that once again inform us that the Windows Mobiel 6.x marketplace will indeed be unavailable after May 17. We all knew this was happening and that Windows 6.x was a dying OS, but it’s still sad for those of us who spent time cooking and flashing ROMs and enjoying all that WM6.x had to offer.

MS suggests you make sure you have all updates installed for all of your WM6.x apps before the Market Place is taken down, although I’m not sure how often those apps have been getting updated recently. They also remind us that hard-resets apparently wipe our games and apps…

Not that I personally ever used the WP6.x Market Place, but this may be the final eulogy of the WM OS we used to love modifying so much.

A moment of silence please.

REMINDER: Windows Marketplace for Mobile 6.x to be Discontinued

May 2, 2012

Dear Windows Mobile 6.x customer:

Microsoft is discontinuing the Windows Marketplace for Mobile service for Windows Mobile 6.x. Please review the details below to familiarize yourself with the changes:

Windows Mobile 6.x Marketplace Service To Be Discontinued

Beginning May 17, 2012, the Windows Mobile 6.x Marketplace service will no longer be available. Starting on this date, you will no longer be able to browse, buy or download applications directly on your Windows Mobile 6.x phone using the Windows Mobile 6.x Marketplace application and service. Please note: The service discontinuation date has changed to May 17, 2012.

Applications and games acquired from the Windows Mobile 6.x Marketplace service installed on your Windows Mobile 6.x phone will continue to work after the service is discontinued on May 17, 2012. However, additional downloads of these applications and games from the Windows Mobile 6.x Marketplace service will no longer be available.

Take Action

Microsoft recommends you review the applications or games installed on your Windows Mobile 6.x phone and install any available updates in advance of the Windows Mobile 6.x Marketplace service shut-down on May 17, 2012.

Please note: All phone data, including applications acquired through the Windows Mobile 6.x Marketplace service, data and user-specific settings, will be deleted from your Windows Mobile 6.x phone in the event that your phone is wiped or “hard reset.” Any data on a removable storage card, if present, will also be deleted if your phone is wiped or “hard reset”.

Windows Mobile applications and games that are compatible with Windows Mobile 6.x may still be available directly from their developers or via third-party marketplaces.

Thank you for your continued support of Windows Phone.

As a parent, you probably are always thinking of ways to make learning fun for your child and Alphabet Find does just that. This educational app makes learning letters, numbers, and shapes a fun, interactive experience for children.

Find the Right Image

Playing is as simple as listening to the alphabet, number, or shape and then finding it in the grid of images. To play listen and look for the given letter, number, or shape, and then find it in the grid of images. If you need a hint, wait a few seconds and the correct answer will start to bounce.

You will be amazed to see how quickly kids start recognizing images. Kids have fun earning stars on every correct answer. As they progress through the levels, they can take up timed challenges.

Make Education Fun

Keep tabs on your child’s progress by checking out your child’s score card. Choose from three levels of difficulty. Alphabet Find engages your child’s auditory, visual, and fine motor skills. This app is a great way to help your kid develop a sense of achievement while they learn basic literacy skills.

Samsung has finally leaped over Apple to become the number one smartphone manufacturer. Until Q1 2012, Apple was the world leader in smartphone sales, but IDC has released shipment figures showing Samsung leading the pack!

Apple did sell an impressive 35.1 million iPhones in Q1 of this year, but Samsung did better with 42.2 million units sold. Nokia is also continually falling in market share where they once were the overwhelming leader of phone sales. With the eminent release of the SGS3, Samsung could jump to an even more commanding lead since rumors point to an iPhone 5 October release!

Gasps were heard ’round the tech world this week when Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak went on the record saying he thought the new Lumia 900 Windows Phone was more beautiful than iPhone or Android operating systems. The Woz dropped the news during a podcast interview with The Report and called the new Nokia product “intuitive and beautiful.” But don’t trade in your iPhone or Android just yet just to be like Wozniak — even though he’s in love with the Lumia 900’s aesthetics, he went on to say that the iPhone 4S is still his primary phone, adding that he thinks Windows phones still need to work on improving app selection and utilities.

What do you think about Wozniak’s comments? Is he just being truthful, or downright blasphemous?

When Google does actually drop the Nexus tablet, it might be some good competition for the iPad that has dwarfed the industry. As you can see from the image it has all google apps and no indication as to any proprietary apps from a different vendor. It also is plainly running ICS. We’ll soon see when the tablet is actually released.

First to note is that smartphones now account for 50% of all phone purchases in the U.S., marking a 38% increase over last year at this time. According to Nielsen, this growth is attributed to increasing smartphone adoption, with more than two thirds of the phones purchased in the last three months being smartphones.

What could be considered even more of a telling sign of things to come are the numbers per platform. Android remained unchanged with 48% of the market share, with iOS coming in at 43% and the remaining 9% comprised of RIM, Nokia and Microsoft. The increase of iOS and the unchanged share of Android smartphones in the survey show that these two powerhouses form nothing short of a duopoly in smartphone purchases, in the U.S. RIM slipped to an all time low of 5% with all ofthers comprising the remaining 4%.

While Android is at the top and iOS is steadily coming up behind them, what does this leave for RIM, Nokia and Microsoft? Will they be able to survive the loss of so many new customers? Do they have something up their sleeves to turn things around or are we destined to witness their collapse in the cell phone industry? Which OS do you use and are you tempted to try anything else? If so, which ones?

Give us your thoughts below!

If you do happen to live in a country that is updating, you need to download Kies and connecting your device.
