According to a reliable source, Storm8, maker of free iPhone games such as Racing Live!, World War, and iMobsters, is being sued. The lawsuit was filed in San Francisco on behalf of Washington State resident Michael Turner after a security hole was discovered that allows software writers to collect your iPhone number - without consent. The numbers are allegedly being sold to companies who later contact the users to sell them various services, including car insurance.  In August of this year, Storm8 acknowledged that the transmission of the personal information was a bug, however the reason this 'bug' has yet to be fixed is quite suspicious.

Many users are now wondering what certain applications and ROMs may be doing without their consent.

This begs the question - Should Apple be held responsible for letting it into the App Store? Or is it Storm8's responsibility?
