T-Mobile Getting HTC HD2 Next Month?

Forum user Unknown Zone posted in our forums a link to an article at ITProPortal stating “…It will also be available on T-Mobile USA by the end of next month”.

We haven’t heard any other information on this, such as a price or a date, but if this is true, along with Project Dark, T-Mobile could be getting quite a few new customers with that plan and phone.  Now only if their 3G coverage was on par with the other big 3 carriers.  We’ll see if the rumor is true!

New video of HTC’s HD2 shows multi-touch browsing in IE

There has been a lot of buzz in the past few weeks about the new HTC HD2, also known as the HTC Leo. But a new video displaying the phone reveals multi-touch web browsing in IE, something none of us were expecting. In a video released on techblog.gr it is evident that the multi-touch that we have all been waiting for on WinMo phones may just be around the corner. The video is about 6 minutes long, but at the 2:25 mark you will be able to see the pinch zooming in full effect! Click on the picture below to see the video (language spoken and on device is Greek, but you will get the point!).

Sure, there is some obvious screen lag in other parts of the video, and HTC clearly needs to work on the overall responsiveness of the device, but HTC has plenty of time to work out the kinks and get us another quality product by release time. Which just about everyone is hoping is tomorrow…

Hands-On HTC HD2

This may be a bit older in the news, especially since this is one of the most anticipated devices coming out and pictures have been leaked all over, but we still can’t get over how sexy this phone looks, despite its big screen. We’ve heard rumors its coming to the US Q1 2010, but we don’t know what carrier or what the price tag will be.

If these pictures don’t make you want one, I don’t know what will!  This thing is sleek, sexy, and one of the hottest looking smartphones to come.  Not to mention, it has the fastest processor we’ve seen, not to mention a 5-megapixel camera (with dual-LED flash), integrated GPS, WiFi, microSD slot, FM radio, digital compass and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Rumor or Fact? Leo/HD2 is Sprint Adonis?

Only time will tell.  PPCGeeks user boredmug has reported that a Sprint Rep (of unknown status or position)  said the HTC Leo/HD2 will be called the Sprint Adonis and will be released around Christmas time.

This doesn’t appear to have been reported anywhere else since all links point back to PPCGeeks, but if the rumor is true, this is great news since the Leo appears to be one of the most sought after phones coming out.

With T-Mobile rumored to be releasing it, this would be a great move for Sprint and could possibly pull people away from the Verizon Wireless Imagio.

We can only wait and hope.

HTC HD2 Inbound to US Carriers Q1 2010.

According to Slashgear looks like the HTC HD2 AKA the Leo will grace the US after all.  The HD2 will be sporting Windows Mobile 6.5 on a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, with a 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen and 5-megapixel autofocus camera; it’s also the first Windows Phone to support both multi-touch and HTC Sense.

Perhaps best of all, HTC CEO Peter Chou has confirmed that HTC will be offering a US 3G version of the HD2 in Q1 2010.

The HD2 has managed to pack in a display half an inch bigger than that of the Touch HD but with only a minimal increase in size – it measures 120.5 x 67 x 11 mm and weighs 157g with the 1,230mAh battery – thanks to the dramatically thin bezel. The HD2 offers HSPA/WCDMA (900/2100) and quadband GSM, WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. It also had a 3.5mm headphones socket and microUSB port, accelerometer, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor. Runtime estimates from the standard 1,230mAh battery are up to 320 minutes WCDMA talktime or 390 hours standby; alternatively you can watch up to 8hrs of video or listen to up to 12hrs of music.

Speculation from WMExperts claims that Verizon can be ruled out since the launch of the HTC Imagio and has also ruled out AT&T because of the Pure.  For now all we can do is sit back and wait.
