LightSquared Inc and Sprint have finally parted ways. Sprint was contracted with LightSquared to provide them with LTE, but the FCC stated earlier this year it would block it due to complications with GPS signals with the LTE network. LightSquared is planning to submit a 150 page defense of the network. Looks like Sprint may have to look elsewhere for their LTE network.

So who is doing LTE for sprint now?
They’re doing it themselves, just like before Lightsquare came into the picture. People seem to be confused on this point – the contract was for Lightsquare to use Sprint’s LTE network and build out Lightsquare’s network to a certain extent, not the other way around.
Looks like Clear is building an LTE network with Sprint.
Sprint is slow lol I still don’t have 4G in my area.. I doubt they are gonna roll out LTE any faster lol…
Recently dropped Sprint after 6 years for VZW and havent looked back. The few dollars I saved on Sprint wasnt enough to make up for their slow network (no 4g and 3g was significantly slower than VZW). And there are no signs Sprint will be improving anytime soon
Yes, I tried out Sprint in my area as well. I could get an average of 15 Kb/s down. With Verizon I am up around 100. I would have loved saving the money, but the speed is worth the extra cost at this time. Maybe later I will check out Sprint and T-Mobile again.
100 kbps down isn’t that much :S
Speed depends on the area you’re in. It may not be much in the larger world, but if your in a 15 kbps world, then 100 is a pretty large number!
It’s crazy, isn’t it? I came back to Sprint after I hadn’t used it since October with Boost Mobile and my speeds have been all over the board with anything from 20 to 500KB Per second down (according to MobileSpeedTest.com) with 100-130 being average, and anything higher being rare. I always thought it was a lot faster back in the day, or maybe I just imagined it. I’ve yet to play a low quality YouTube video on it.
