Leaked HP TouchPad With Stock Android! (system dumped)
Some good news for those who asked for Android on the now discontinued HP TouchPad. It seems that some Qualcomm HP Touchpad prototypes made it into the wild. These prototypes came preloaded with Android 2.2.1.
The first one ended up on ebay with a ridiculous price tag as expected, but another individual decided to make a rom dump instead! With this rom dump it is a matter of time until someone puts together a full working rom!
Next goal would most likely be to loading up Gingerbread on it, though I would not get my hopes up on Honeycomb due to lack of source code until ICS comes out. Check out this video showing the TouchPad running a Quic vanilla 2.2.1 version of Android.
Did you manage to snag yourself a TouchPad during the clearance? and are you planning to run Android on it?

I stick with webos until a very stable android is released. That said, does android tabs support flash?
I am better off just googling the answer.

@esqueue, Both Web Os and Android tabs support flash. And this flash build should be stable once its out. This isn’t an Android port..this is an actual Android build.
The guess here is that Qualcomm uses Android to test the tablets to make sure they work, then Palm loads up their WebOS. These Android builds “should” be 100% working…
cant wait to get android on it!!!
I got the 32gb Touchpad for 130 bucks using a school discount. Its actually not a bad tablet and WebOS isn’t bad either. I will still switch it over to Android just because they have better app development.
Me and a few co-workers managed to get an order in to one of our vendors, and got 3 of the 16GB models at $99 each. Not a bad deal for a neat little toy. I will certainly look into loading Android on the thing as soon as possible
