Microsoft Live on Android?!?! Say WHAT?!?
"According to a post on the Windows Team Blog, Microsoft has given developers the tools for Windows Live integration across all major mobile platforms, including our beloved Android. The team in Redmond is giving you a use for that Hotmail account you made in the 90s, and they are bringing Messenger and SkyDrive along with it."
So how many Android users have a hotmail account? My guess is not many! Well Microsoft is giving you MSN Live, which includes Instant Messenger and Skydrive access. It should be seamless and only require you to log in once. Then BAM! there it is for you - Windows Live on Google's Android...
Why would this be a good idea? Well think of it as helping people switch to your system, use your cloud storage, and possible help draw users to your platform...Chances of this happening well depends Microsoft is betting on a shot i nthe dark, that could pay off.
So PPCG, are you going to download this app? Would you like Skydrive, IM, and other services on your Android device? Tell us below - but please be nice to each other!

I will try it out and see. Having options is always a good thing. Besides a lot of Android users came from Windows Mobile or already had a hotmail address before they had a gmail address.

I still have an old hotmail I use for crap mostly, but I still use it nonetheless. I would hoop up to the email, that is about it.

Its an intuitive idea, however, with all the these lawsuits being flung around, I think its a way for Microsoft to snake in on Android action and file more lawsuits against the platform! Microsoft is only pissed because they didn’t think of the open-source OS first! And now with this, its just going to be reason for them to try and charge for the service outside the Microsoft OS platform. For shame Microsoft, for shame!!!!!

@wraith79
I highly doubt they will be charging anyone for Windows Live services (At least not the current, basic features that exist today). Not sure why you would think that. MS is a software company, they want nothing more than more users using their services, because that tends to lead to using their other paid products/services due to integration.

@fwaits, Well, with everything going on with the patents and everything. Look at what RIM was going to do, they were going to make BBM a cross platform messenger, and they were going to charge ppl for the use of the messenger that weren’t on the Blackberry platform! Now, who’s to say, Microsoft won’t do the same thing. They have to pay the programmers, the upkeep of the software, doing stuff like that isn’t free, especially if its Microsoft that’s doing it! Money hungry, thats all they are, they want to dominate the market and leave everyone else in the dust!
I use Windows Live Domain Services, so my buisness and personal emails are on Hotmail.
I will def enjoy having this App. I also love that Windows Live decided to offer Exchange Support.
def like to see more integration, just dont put it out and then neglect it
