Sprint’s mysterious HTC Shooter – dual core CPU?
GLBenchmark has shown a screenshot of what appears to be another new device coming to Sprint, the HTC Shooter. Some say this device is possibly going to have a dual-core Qualcomm processor. What would give that away? Keep reading to learn more.
If you didn't notice, the image suggests that this device is carrying the new Adreno 220 GPU. Normally, that means it's going to be paired with twin twin processing units. The image also suggests this device will be running on Android Gingerbread 2.3.2. Sounds good doesn't it, or does it? Let us know what you think!

Hello evo replacement… I am going to buy you.
may be the EVO 3D the EVO model number is the PC36100 and the shooters model is the PC86100 thats to close I will get this when it drops
I would love to have it if it comes with a keyboard….
are dual core processors even necessary on a phone? i dont think so
@eric12341, Yes..they are..even IE9 relies on dual cores for its speed by offloading JavaScript on the 2nd core..
@eric12341, I know your not an Android fan by any means, but i believe the cap/max size on Game .apks has been or is about to be increased exponentially.. thus making for WAY better games.. 2 dual cores will definitely help developers and end users for this… also dual cores start to make it so FPS caps and such dont have to exist anymore either id think..
You will be mine!!! idk whether or not you have a 3d screen (could be cool?) but i must have dual core amazing gaming on a big ass screen!
940×540 screen size? seems odd…
@boredandtattooed, Well its the same resolution as the iphone4.
This sounds… Like a definately maybe for sure… jejeje
Depending if the wifey likey… maybe the EVO replacement… if not, we are replacing the EVO Shift… either way;
This sounds… Like a definately maybe for sure… jejeje
Yeah man, Dual core… if they knew how to use the battery right, I’ll be the crazy one and buy the QUAD CORE!! jejeje
Alright, too much… But seriously, phones are becoming as powerful as our computers… Look at it this way, I’m sure you (and I) will be getting WP8 with the Dual Core Processor and 3D screen and… Who knows what else will be out by then… These types of things are inevitable… because there are crazy people like me outthere that WILL buy devices because they are just… The best of the best and hard to pass up man… I love windows and if they offered this with WP7… I’d gettit… but its Android 2.3.2… So, im still getting it… jejeje
@mapaz04, This was supposed to be at the top… @eric12341
@mapaz04, More cores does not mean it uses more battery life..more cores can even save battery life..that said according to Nvidia there Quad Core solution that will come out by end of the year will be on par/slightly better processing power wise to a Core2Duo on a PC :/
What good are all these powerful devices if battery life is just four hrs. I love my Evo but so bad on battery.
@teddyman, Dual cores do not use up mroe battery life.they can actually save battery life…The Tegra 2 for example is 40nm vs the 65nm of the Evo..
That said it seems that the new phones are finally breaking the 1500mah barrier..
It’s good to see that Sprint is keeping ahead of the game.Sprint released the first “Best” Android smartphone and on top of that it was the first 4G phone here in the U.S. Once again Sprint has a great opportunity to stay ahead of the Android storm by releasing the next “Best” Android smartphone and hopefully it will rock much harder than the first HTC EVO!!! I’m excited.
You ain’t alone tx!
I hope this will be Sprints “Atrix”…………if so than I have to get it! Imagine that resolution on a 4.3″ screen……..HOT DAMN! I wanna see device specs now please!
