Verizon Wireless is getting the Playstation Phone
Not only is Verizon Wireless now carrying one new hot device but they've recently added another. Soon, you will see the highly anticipated smartphone available in their stores, the Xperia Play (the first Playstation certified phone.)
The device aims to combine gaming with a phone offering consumers an experience like never before. Unlike Windows Phone 7, who only had very few games available at launch, you can believe this "gamers" phone will have more than 50 games titles available at their launch. That's what gamers like to hear!
The Playstation phone is schedule to hit Verizon Wireless’ network in Spring of 2011. Rumor is it will be powered by Android and will feature dedicated gaming controls that mimic console-style gameplay, such as four-way directional keys, recognizable ABCD keys with PlayStation iconography, left/right shoulder keys and two analog touch inputs for joystick action.
Specifications reported also include a 5.0 megapixel camera and a 4" multi-touch display. Games suspected at launch will be The Sims 3, Tetris, Ashphalt Adrenaline 6 and much more.
What do you think about Verizon Wireless getting this one? Is this going to be a huge hit for gamers? Time will tell but for now let us know what you think.

yeah that’s the first image engadget ever put out…..i’m sure it’s very similar
Pretty cool, here is a question though will those awesome game buttons be mappable for emulators like gba?
If so that is so cool!!
i wonder what Android version it will come with??
Looks like Verizon is trying to compete with Sprint’s new ds phone.
Hmmmm….Wow, wait for a Windows Phone 7 or this…. If it plays PSP2/NGP games, I might just skip over WP7 for this phone. I guess it all depends on what hits first and at what price…
My love of video games or my love of Microsoft products….Hmmmmm

ull have both on windows phone 7
Looks cheesy.
I went to a Sprint store over the weekend and they have a poster of it as well, i asked the rep will Sprint carry it, and he ansewerd, YES!
Only news I saw said it was coming to Verizon first, not that no other carrier would have it. I’m sure Sprint, AT&T and T-mobile will get it by the end of the year. Also saw people complaining about the announcement that PSN content will have to be purchased again to be used on this phone. Not really too interested in its current form, but depending on the games, this thing could take off.
too bad xbox is better.

In your opinion. To others the free online, blu-ray player, game selection, controllers, not having red ring issues, etc. make the PS3 better.
