BREAKING NEWS: Droid Bionic rumored to be running Android 3.0 (Honeycomb)
Thanks to a tipster we heard a rumor that the Droid Bionic is said to be running Android 3.0 (aka Honeycomb.) Some say that honeycomb was supposed to be for tablets only but according to this tipster, that may not be the case. Only time will tell!
What do you think will be different in Android 3.0 if it's not only for tablets? Do you think this will even happen? Let us know what you think about this new rumor we have just been told about!!

After viewing the videos of honeycomb, I cant imagine it being very friendly on a smaller phone screen. It looks like it was really optimized for a larger display. I think it should stay tablet only and just call the phone version something completely different.
I agree with Okiedokie…
HoneyComb needs to be separate from the rest of the Android releases… Keep 3.+ for Tabs and 2.+ for devices… This will allow them to do different things for the different devices… as Okie states, HoneyComb looks like it was made for a big screen…
As much as I like the development that Android is taking… I dont think that a Mobile OS should be on a tablet…
I sat and watched a video of 3.0 taken at CES and to say…I’m not all that impressed. I liked the UI look but it was still choppy and unrefined to me. Keeping it on tablets is it’s best bet.
no no no… its getting Android 2.4 (aka Ice Creme).. due this summer http://lifehacker.com/5731029/remains-of-the-day-android-24-to-drop-this-summer
Hell I think its possible. Nothing is wrong with making some tweaks to the UI. Maybe its even easier to scale down to a smaller device than to scale up to a larger device.

You know, people…just because they show it on a larger screen (tablet) doesn’t mean it can’t do other resolutions… or be optimized for a smaller screen. Truthfully, if everyone said they weren’t getting windows because it would only work on a 22 in widescreen (as it’s commonly shown) then windows would lose out.
In the end.. I believe it may have been built with tablets in mind, but still able to be the phone OS it is. In the end.. they may release two versions of 3.0 a phone and a tablet version…. who knows? until we get there… let’s not speculate and spread rumors…
2.x path for mobile and 3.x for tablets? I doubt that will be happening, particularly with their increasing attention to fragmentation.
