Microsoft Finally Releases Some Numbers: Over 1.5 Million Sold To Carriers / Retailers.

We’ve been waiting for quite some time to hear word on how well Microsoft’s new platform has been selling, and we finally get an idea… kind of. Microsoft has announced that retailers in 30 countries, with 60 carriers have purchased over 1.5 million units with the new platform for sale in their stores. While this doesn’t really give us an idea of how many consumers actually bought, it gives us somewhat of an idea.

It seems as if the carriers are being careful and awaiting to see numbers through the end of the year to see if Microsoft’s “get in, get out” OS is going to be a great investment for the long-haul. Microsoft’s Achim Berg states that the sales are right on track with the expectations set. I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see.

What do you think?

Do you think that these numbers prove any sort of worth to the new platform?
