Microsoft & At&t Press Conference Oct. 11th To Launch Windows Phone 7

Microsoft has officially confirmed that it will launch the long-awaited Windows Phone 7 on October 11th with events worldwide, including the main one in New York City. In NYC, there will be keynote presentations by both Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer and AT&T’s Ralph de la Vega. AT&T is the preferred launch partner in the US and is expected to have three handsets available at launch. T-Mobile will also be releasing handsets, but so far it seems that the rumor/announcement of no CDMA carriers until 2011 is correct.
October 11th may be the launch date, but devices aren't expected to be in retail stores until November 8th in the US, so we'll still have to wait for another month.

that’s ok, I think I’d rather have a sweet cdma ppc running embedded with wm6.5.
A true Pocket PC.
can’t wait for android 3.0 !
Hahaha, nice one Shaggylive.
Well, I have been waiting for WP7 for so long that I ended up getting an iPhone two months ago. I’m very happy and satisfied with it, and now I’m just very excited to see if WP7 is going to success or fail, either way I don’t care, I’m just dying to know what is going to happen, because I really enjoy how companies struggle to fight in this mobile wars.
So far I see reviews on how MS is not making good moves for the lunch date of the WP7 with no CDMA phones and now seems that the availability of phone in retail stores is expected until next month…. WOW really???, seriously what a lame lunch =S
Its going to be interesting…..
I guess MS still doesn’t get it!!! they need to take care of their loyal customers first or you can continue to watch your user base walk away……. ATT has the iphone and a huge apple fanboy base , why would you start selling your new product there? WHY? when you have the potential to “convert/keep” much more followers in T-mobile, sprint and verizon?
I can understand going GSM for the rest of the world, but here in the USA… very very bad move Microsoft, this is gonna just make people holding out for WP7 jump the android wagon much faster, a shame indeed.
Definitely agree with oppman assessment, wrong move for the USA market. I would have gone with WP7 just to keep my current plan…although I really want to go droid. Now that they are deferring me, I will deferr them because I will definitely go android 3.0
