Sprint: Samsung Transform Picture finally surfacing
Sprints Samsung Transform pictures have finally been spotted. This device is very similar to the Galaxy S when taking a closer look. Some of the specs of this device include: 4" screen size, 480X800 display resolution, Super Amoled screen that is multi-touch and it will run Android 2.2. Find more specs at phonearena.com (link here).
Member celsius0010 here at PPCGeeks states "You might want to reconsider that Evo or Epic 4G purchase. It looks like Sprint is about to introduce the Transform. If you look closely the top and bottom are more rounded than the Epic and there sure is a lot more bezel around the top and bottom too. It looks like it may be packing a 3.2 inch screen like the Moment but Im hoping for 3.5."
You may ask why doesn't this have a keyboard? Actually, Sprint's the only carrier without a keyboard-less Galaxy S. We can only assume the name comes from this transformation of creating a keyboard-less, Android device.

Thats the same exact picture they used for the Epic…I think this is fake
it’s similar to the one on phonearena…which was too small to use so I went with this one. They say it looks just like the Epic/Galaxy so could be the same image just to show you what it looks like.
Why does everyone think this doesn’t have a keyboard? Unless this is different than sph-m920 (fccid:A3LSPHM920)
This device is listed as having a QWERTY keypad.
So is the thought that this is a different device or that the fcc documents are incorrect?
You’ve misread the quote on phonearena.com if that’s where you saw “qwerty”
“Unlike the Epic 4G, which has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the Transform seems to retain a clear candybar form-factor.”
interesting… dont really see any reason to reconsider my epic purchase tho… im not really surprised at this… just another move like the diamond touc pro combo sprint did a few year back… but a few question i wonder… i see no sign of 4g insignia… like “evo 4g” or “epic 4g” … this device isnt listed as the transform 4g… also No word yet on a front facing cam (although the stats for the 5mp cam is listed)… if it doesn’t have 4g it prolly wont have a front facing cam, and lastly w/ a lack of slide out qwerty… it sounds (granted just an assumption) more like they are going to launch as more of a mid range device than something to compete w/ the evo or epic … im guess it more to give those who don’t want to spend 250 on a device these days or an additional 10 a month on data premiums an option of decent devices to choose from… also something to compete w/ the other galaxy S device on the other carries which are going for next to nothing… w/ a move like this it justifies them selling and keeping the epic at around the 250 (or even 200) price range while pushing this model out at a more competitive price mark…
how funny would it be if this is a “4G-less” device, only to find out we just needed to enable the radio… *drools at the thought*
If this thing had a bleep(NDC) I would pick pick it over the Evo or the Epic. Sprint needs to hurry and release a nice high end Android phone with the Nextel Direct Connect! Many people would buy/support it! A touch screen WM Nextel phone didn’t happen, hoping Android will!
@Courtney1985 – you’ve misread my quote.
I quote the documents filed with the FCC
https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=141257&fcc_id='A3LSPHM920‘
HAC Production Key Feature Letter Attestation Statements 08/16/2010 pdf 08/16/2010
If you look there, under “key features” you’ll note that it clearly states “QWERTY keypad”.
How bad would the fallout be if this phone ships with Froyo while the Epic still hasn’t been updated yet?
Since, my previous comment does not appear to be coming up, I thought it worthwhile to repost it.
@Courtney
you have misread my comment.
I am quoting the filed FCC documents regarding the SPH-M920 when I say it has a “QWERTY keypad.”
go to the FCC database site and search for A3LSPHM920.
So, some options exist:
1) this is not the SPH-M920 (which all indications point that it is, ie 3rd party accessories are labeled as samsung transform (sph-m920))
2) the FCC filed documents have an error (seems doubtful)
3) comments stating it does not have a keyboard are wrong
I’m going to lean toward #3.
yeah FCC document clearly states it has a QWERTY keyboard so my guess is it has one..
I’d prefer Non-Qwerty, but could care less if it DOES NOT have the 4g $10 Premium data charge. If it Does and it’s only 3G, then we might as well assume that all Sprint PPC Phones from here on out will have the $10 Fee!
WTF?? What is so special about this compared to the epic? Same processor. Same camera mp. Just lack of keyboard? looks fake to me i mean it looks exactly like the epic very similar specs. The only difference is no hardware keyboard and android 2.2 which we are going to get on the epic anyway. DUMB
i don’t see why it’s dumb…. you get the same device without a keyboard with the same great features that are better than the evo. i don’t see why it’s dumb to have a choice.
if this bad boy comes with outlook sync software like the evo does, i’m all over it until windows phone 7 comes out
the specs on this is already on sprint.com check it out. not bad specs. has front facing camera.
@kkevk3@gmail.com –
specs aren’t bad? maybe it is just me but that screen resolution seems down right pathetic. 480×320? Ridiculous for phone with a $400(?) MSRP.
