We normally don’t post about ROMs on the front page, but since this is one of the most popular Android ROMs out there and is available on almost every Android phone, we thought it might be worth mentioning. CyanogenMod 6 is based on Android 2.2 (Froyo) and is now out of beta and is considered stable. While there’s many tweaks, it is known for its stock Android feel.

The folks over at Engadget have leaked another Windows Phone 7 device, this time from HTC and heading to At&t. Its the HTC T8788. While its a slider phone, it slides open to reveal a speaker, not the usual keyboard. Like the Evo, this one also features a kickstand in back, making it great for a multimedia experience.

dishe, a user on our forums for some time now, was given a unique opportunity from an anonymous source to play with an LG slider Windows Phone 7, and he had quite a nitpicking with it – with both pros and cons of the QWERTY device, looking much like an LG Ally in shape and design.

Now that EVO, Droid and Nexus One have received their Froyo upgrades, word on the street is that sometime this week, Incredible will get theirs. Bringing them into our family of Froyo users.
As most of the android population now know, Froyo is the code-name of the new Android 2.2 that is touted to be faster and more stable than it’s 2.1 predecessor. However, the main feature is the ability to run Adobe Flash 10.1. Which allows your web browser to make use of websites that use Flash for navigation, games, and showing video. Read more…

With Android 2.2 coming out to devices, Windows Phone 7 coming out later this year, iOS4 released, and a WebOS 2.0 around the corner, its time for Blackberry to reveal its next version of its OS, OS6. While there will be new devices coming out that come loaded with the OS, RIM has confirmed it plans on upgrades for the Bold 9700, Bold 9650 and Pearl 3G (sadly no word of the Storm or Storm 2). The most they said is that it will be in the coming months pending carrier certification and further testing.
Next on the Blackberry Agenda is the announcement of the Blackberry Torch 9800, coming exclusively to At&t. At&t provided us with an early release on its website, before RIM made the official announcement. It is a touchscreen slider with a 3.2″ display and 480×360 resolution. It will also have WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, 5-megapixel autofocus camera with flash, 512 MB of RAM + 512 MB of Flash + 4 GB of Flash + 4 GB MicroSD memory, a 1300 mAH battery, and dimensions of 111 x 62 x 14.6 mm.
UPDATE: Please Read If You Own a Zaggsparq 2.0!
If you own a smartphone one of these days, one of the biggest blunders of the rapidly evolving and advancing technology is its life when on the go, AKA the battery life. When you stick 1GHZ processors and 512 MB of RAM into a tiny frame, you’re going to have such problems come up. Rather add to the weight and bulk of the device, as devices get more powerful the battery amperage remains the same, leaving you in the dust with poor battery life!
The only way to compete is to keep around an AC outlet or car adapter – unless of course you have been blessed with the ZAGGSparq 2.0!
