T-Mobile Joining In The 4G Frenzy

While T-Mobile is presumably years away from offering 4G to its customers, its European parent company, Deutsche Telecom, is looking into how to bring T-Mo’s LTE to the states. In a partnership with New York hedge fund, Harbinger Capital, T-Mo hopes to buy some air space and shoot out those lovely Mbps to the adoring fans. The group was also to have said that a 4G satellite network is being investigated, to provide 4G to a larger footprint. No deal has been penned, but T-Mo should have no issue waiting a little while longer, since it has been pushing 21 Mbps over its 3G and is expanding that in the mean time.

LG Allies with Tony Stark and their new “Ally” Phone

LG has announced the May 20th release of their first Android powered smartphone, the LG Ally. In order to inundate us with the features of this new phone, LG has called upon this summer’s blockbuster superhero, Iron Man. Not too surprising, if you remember LG had a similar tactic for a special edition LG Shine when the original Iron Man was released back in 2008. The Ally will run Android 2.1, the latest version of the Google backed operating system with an arsenal of mechanized tech to make you drool. Specs include a 3.5 inch AMOLED display, 5 megapixel camera that will record 720p HD video and a 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor. While we all want but can’t have Iron Man’s awesome HUD, the Ally does come preloaded with software for augmented reality, giving users a very unique experience. Expect to see the phone steal some lime-light from Tony Stark(yeah, right!) when the movie hits theaters on May 7th.
