Changewave Researches the Big 4 Carriers – The Results are in! (Updated 5/7/10)

Changewave, a major researching institution of the United States, has recently created a study judging dropped calls, carrier retentions, and overall customer satisfaction over the big four carriers in the US: T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon & Sprint.

This also includes a study on the probability of switches to occur if the Iphone were to appear under Verizon Wireless

Well the results are in and here they are! Read On To See Full Details!

Dropped Calls Percentage over 90 Days

  • Verizon – 1.5 %
  • Sprint Nextel – 2.4%
  • T-Mobile – 2.8%
  • AT&T – 4.5%

Plan to Switch Carriers in the next 90 Days

  • Verizon – 7%
  • AT&T – 8%
  • Sprint – 10%
  • T-Mobile – 14%

Overall Customer Satisfaction

  • Verizon – 49%
  • Sprint Nextel – 35%
  • T-Mobile – 23%
  • AT&T – 23%

Likelyhood of switching if a Verizon Iphone came out.

  • Very Likely – 16%
  • Somewhat Likely – 33%

My Thoughts?

Well, Sprint is ALSO Nextel, which the two have had (IMHO) two different genre of users, and two different genres of events and coverage.

Also, note how although many say they will hop the boat, they dont see an IPhone coming out in the next 90 days, giving them incentive to switch

Update: 5/7/10
After these results have been posted, At&t is now disputing their dropped call percentage. According to At&t spokewoman Dawn Benton, their network only drops an average of 1.44% of calls. This report is also the worst rating At&t has received by the same company. Another thing to note is that this survey is only based on 4,000 smartphone users, with no locations disclosed.
