Many HTC Incredible users aren’t happy with their battery life while using the OEM battery provided by HTC. After seeing many complaints, users are saying the battery is not so incredible. This has lead me to find a solution to these complaints. I, PPCGeeks Owner, Wideawake have personally taken time to compare the OEM battery and a Seidio battery provided by our Mobihand Store on PPCGeeks.com. Read on for the details of the tests I ran with each battery.

For those of you that don’t know, Froyo, Android 2.2, has been making its way to Nexus One users since last night. It was first reported by a user at TechCrunch, then someone at Engadget. Twitter was a flutter with users saying they received the OTA update as well. It only took about a half a day, but the users at XDA and MoDaCo finally got a system dump from someone and was able to put together some some updates for us to use. Read on for more details.

Sprint likes to advertise that it is leading innovation by starting the nation’s first 4G network with WiMAX, but now it appears that they’re second guessing themselves. With the other three major U.S. carriers confirming they’re going with LTE as their 4G solution, Sprint is probably getting worried about their decision to go with WiMAX, which would leave them the only carrier with that technology as of now. On Wednesday, Sprint issues a Request For Proposal (RFP) from 4G equipment manufacturers, which included LTE. Read more…

Well it seems like Sprint is preparing for battle by starting to load up its Sprints stores with the highly anticipated HTC Evo. According to my source deep inside Sprint some sprint stores have begun receiving shipments of the Evo. According to her they will open most stores hours early (hers is opening at 8am where the normal time is 10am) and are anticipating selling out that day. Make sure you guys know exactly where you plan on getting your Evo’s on June 4th they are anticipating to sell out. Best Buy is taking pre-orders for a $50 deposit and The Shack aka RadioShack is supposedly taking pre orders soon.
Here are some pics I took while playing with the phone.

While most of us are CDMA users here, this is still for a good cause. As you probably know, XDA has been working on porting the Windows Phone 7 ROM to the HTC HD2. Da_G has done most of the work on this, but he needs a few things before he can get any further. As most developers know, its difficult to work on something without actually having a device to test it on. So, XDA has started a donations thread for this to try to get Da_G a HD2 and a Trace 32 tool so he can find the JTAG. These are estimated to be about $1400. As of now, the donations total about $630. This is no guarantee that he’ll be able to get a fully working port, but he can’t get any further without these tools. Read more for the links…

By now, we all should know that Verizon’s 4G plans are to go with LTE (Long Term Evolution) instead of WiMAX like Sprint. Sprint’s first 4G-compatible device, the Evo 4G, will be available in a few weeks. Verizon’s CEO, Lowell McAdam, has confirmed that Verizon will be releasing three to five LTE-compatible handsets by May 2011. He wasn’t able to confirm which manufacturers will produce those devices, but he said “all the major manufacturers we’re talking to today are making the transition to LTE”.

This weekend, the folks at XDA got their hands on a new Windows Phone 7 leaked ROM, which supposedly comes from a device codenamed the HTC Mondrian on Cingular USA. This is a bit strange since Cingular has been long gone and it has been At&t Mobility since 2007. The above image was extracted from oemavatar.cab. This could either be a generic image being used as a placeholder, or it could actually be the Mondrian, which has been referenced throughout the ROM. In addition to that image, they believe it has a 4.3″ WVGA display from Optrex and a 1.3GHz QSD8650A/B Snapdragon (the new 45nm) processor.

Most of us probably recall watching a demo video of what the original NVIDIA Tegra chip was capable of since it had most of us drooling over the graphics. There’s only been a couple of phones that have used this chip, the newest being Microsoft’s Kin One and Kin Two. During NVIDIA’s financial report, their CEO said that their upcoming Tegra 2 chip would be available in Android-powered devices. He said it should be available by the third version of Android, which should be around the end of the year. Read more…

HTC has announced its newest Android handset, the Wildfire. Its an entry-level Android 2.1 device with a smaller screen and a slower processor than the Desire and Legend.
