So this is basically the Evo, minus 4g, a smaller screen and no front facing camera.
@dakidobf – And Verizon vs Sprint
well i doesnt have the hdmi slot like the evo and front facing 1.3mp camera either
its basically a cdma version of the htc desire, the evo is in a class by itself at the moment. thanks for the mention mindfrost!!
Not too crazy about front facing camera, but I do wish it had 4.3″ screen.
Oh well, at least it is AMOLED screen.
Evo ain’t all that much better imo… 4.3 is big for some people, the front facing camera has no use for me and you wont notice the more memory difference too much …
Oh and 8mp vs 5 on a phone.. Meh. I do say the evo has better specs, but I wouldn’t say its in a whole different league. …lol
So its 3.7″ AMOLED on the Incredible and 4.3″ TFT on the EVO… I would prefer the larger screen myself. AMOLED is nice i will admit but larger screen is my preference plus I’m on Sprint. Left Verizon in ’07 due to locked GPS and outrageous pricing.
4g, hdmi out, 1st of their kind in the us, ummm yea id say its in a league by itself bud.@Dragon2 -
First of all the reason for the front facing camera on the evo is so you can use it with video chat style programs, its not so you can use it as a camera. that’s what the 8mp camera is for. So you saying you don’t like the front facing camera doesn’t make any sense.
So based on that this phone is nothing like the evo. Especially when you consider the bigger screen and the hdmi output that at this point no other phone has. This phone doesn’t compare to the evo.o
Like someone already said, the evo is in a class on it’s own.
don’t get me wrong though. For people who have verizon this phone will be awesome. It might even be their best smartphone yet including the droid.
Pretty sure this WILL be my next phone. I’ve been so close to grabbing up an Eris just to get away from my crippled touch pro. A few more weeks won’t be too long to wait! Hope the pricing is reasonable!!!
This phone will be incredible and definitely in a class all its own!!
Just to point out though, the samsung instinct HD has an HDMI out, so this phone is not the first.
@buckstar0814 – wasnt aware of that, thank you for pointing it out!
where am I…… Are we actually arguing about this?
I love how people think the evo is in a class of its own because a front facing camera and HDMI output…. Lmaooo
the evolution is awesome, but its not in any higher of a class than the Incredible, nexus or desire, it may be a smudge better but not much….
4g data/internet = a class of its own… sheesh!!!
i have an idea how about we actually talk about the incredible specs arguing about which is better COULD deter someone from getting an awesome phone (Incredible) im on Sprint and i will probably get an Evo when it comes out but if you are on Verizon this (Incredible) will be a good phone for you more than likely. Good luck with your choices. Phones do so much these days im almost about to get rid of my lap top … if it wasnt for college.
The Evo 4G has been clocked with download speeds in between 2 and 8 mbps. 8 MBPS! nothing Verizon releases can compete as of yet. Also, because the camera on the Evo 4G is 8mp, it can record video at 720p quality and output to a hdtv directly through hdmi. To say that there’s not much difference is crazy talk that people make when their jealous. If both phones were to come to the same carrier, no one would buy the Incredible.
