Because Mini works through a proxy which is why you get issuess with some sites. If you want better privacy you would use Mobile with Turbo turned off, so your data wouldn’t go through Opera server. However, this is trivial if you are already browsing on a cellular network.

I am glad for Mini however because I get 15kb/s where I live. Having the data downloaded and compressed for me nakes the browsing more bearable and not feel like 56k.

@dumblondewalkin - slight spelling errors aren't as bad as the bugs in opera mini that make it unusable, at least for me anyway.

I don’t mean to be a stickler but I have noticed a lot of spelling mistakes on these posts. You guys should proof read them a bit better…(long should be longer)

I been using Mini the past few days and so far im very impressed. seems much faster and smoother than before and dosent take anywhere near as long to load. This is now my primary browser for just cruising around the net.

BUGGY!!! mobile site redirects with mobile view off (whats so hard about including a user-agent switcher like in opera 8.6x?). and when typing with touch screen the cursor moves back to the begining of the line,they cant deem to get either of these right tho i like how fast and light it is

@batpot - Good point. They look almost identical at this point, but I know they offer Opera Mobile on other platforms, so maybe they will be converting those versions of Opera Mini too and just combining it into one product.

It seems that even HTC is leaving Java behind. The HTC Supersonic is rumored to not have Java support ( http://www.theopenpress.com/index.php?a=press&id=68548).

Given that Youtube is beta testing HTML5 (no Java), is this a big deal?
