Which carrier no more…
The HD2 is quite the phone. 1GHz snapdragon, 4.3 inch screen. To me it is the perfect phone. All that remained to be seen is if it was coming to my carrier (which is Sprint btw). Unfortunately, it is not to be. T-Mobile has confirmed that it will be the carrier to officially bring the HD2 to the United States. The only carrier according to the picture below.

The only question that remains is why are they waiting so long? The HD2 will be released in the Spring of 2010, at which point the Touch Pro3 might make an appearance. The TP3 may cause people to withold purchasing the HD2 as they may want the TP3 more than they do the HD2. Leave your thoughts in the comments.

Oh cmon Sprint what the hell is going on here? The HD2 should have been on Sprint, it would have been the best phone available! I understand the whole GSM/CDMA issue, but I mean seriously they could have made it compatible with CDMA. This blows, T-Mobile sucks eggs.
Yeah sprint is definately dropping the ball on this one,they need to get with the program and step it up a couple of notches or you might see alot of sprint customers jumpin ship,don’t get me wrong im a sprint customer and have been for over a decade but the line of phones they have needs to improve big time.I hope they can unveil a nice 1 ghz snapdragon with a decent display(the bigger the better)sometime here in the near future.
if sprint dont announce something soon I can get verzion for 30 bucks more a month and I am seriously thinking about jumping ship sprint is already showing their not gonna be worth it this year.
If sprint had got the HD2 I would have upgraded from my touch pro to the HD2 in a heartbeat. I would have put me in a 3 year contract with sprint just to keep it cheap but what the hell that things glorious. If sprint doesn’t change to a carrier that picks up new phones quicker I’m sure when me and a lot of other people get to the end of their contract and will jump ship to get the new toy.
Come on Sprint, you have the best plans, now go out there and get us the best phones and faster or your gonna loose.
I was with T-mobile for about 6 to 7 years. They had cool phones but the service was a joke. I was in San Francisco and i had no reception. I was in LA no reception. I was in Yuma no reception.They have cool phones like i said but there reception sucks and no matter what phone they get i wont go bacK, ever.
WTF SPRINT!?!?!?!?!?!!?!
Now because the hd2 is a sim chipped phone, will it be able to be unlocked for use on other carriers? I have at&t and if it can be unlocked and used on at&t then I will def do that because there is no way i will switch to t mobile.
@lilstarkie – Yes, you should be able to unlock it and use it on other carriers, BUT, T-Mobile uses different 3G bands than At&t does, so you’ll be stuck on EDGE only.
I believe Telus in Canada uses the same 3G bands as At&t and they’re supposed to be getting this phone too, so if you want 3G, you may want to find someone in Canada who will buy it and ship it to you.
Come on Sprint, get a hold of this phone! I tried convincing my wife to let us move to the UK JUST to get this phone. Now that it’s coming to the US… Sprint just really needs to get this phone.
what the snapdragon in tmobile WTH SPRINT WTH
phone is a flop! TMOBILE..forget about it…att yess…what a waste of phone htc…oh wells..maybe something better for us sprint user..hahaha
Well this was assumed when we heard they won’t make the HD2 in CDMA
First dibs on the TP2, and now this? Makes me kinda glad I have family who are on T-Mobile (cause I damn sure aint leavin Sero…not even for an HD2).
By the time Sprint gets a snapdragon powered device…we’ll probably be moving on to a new platform already. Booo Sprint! And bigger booo to HTC!
@sumo911 –
agreed I am not leaving sero unless I get a snap dragon. Then its family plan with 15% discount for 36.00 a month with data.
I will stick right here though with my great coverage, good data and great rates and decent phone. Is it perfect? no. I could go over to VZ and get ass raped for service, or Tbag mobile and get a great phone with crap service for more money.
Each company has its draw backs. If money is no issue then go VW, If you want a great phone and crappy service to Tbag
I’m really starting to get pissed off with HTC
Sprint you really let a lot of you loyal customers down, way to go T-Mo(they actually listen to what people want)!
really are you kidding me!! well hell maybe it will be a repeat of the tp2…….
maybe we’ll get the dell phone?
I really don’t feel like it is Sprint who let us down, I think it is more of HTC to succomb to the temptation of all that money T-Mobile gave them for exclusivity.
@mindfrost82 –
thank you for the information mindfrost82 ill look into that
wow…one of the best phones going to the suckiest network in the country. that phone on the t-mobile network?…what a waste of a powerful processor. that’s like having a top of the line pc/laptop and can only connect via dial-up.
Amen to t-mobile being the worst carrier in the nation.
WTF does sprint suck so badly at making good decisions? They are starting to tick me off just as much as verizon use to.
Sprint… and you wonder why you’re losing customers left and right.
