HD2 Only Current Device To Get WM7
According to HTC's Russian Twitter page, the HD2 is the only device currently on the market that will receive an upgrade to Windows Mobile 7 when its released. The translation is: "for Diamond 2 firmware is not planned. Of the existing communicators on the market, only the HD2 firmware to get WM7".
Sorry for those Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 owners. I'm sure there will be some leaked ROMs for you guys though!

long as the HD2 gets it im all gravy
HD2 still lacks CDMA and hardware keyboard. I’ll keep my TP2 until the TP3 comes out. And in the mean time maybe we will get some WM7 ROMS but I’m not getting my hopes up. Even Manila 2.5 kinda lags on the TP2, so it’s probably just not fast enough to handle WM7.
You know when you switch to Windows Phone 7, you can’t go back to Windows Phone 6.1 or 6.5 or 6.5.1
@Whosdaman – how do you figure?
Didnt they say WM7 wont be released till the lats quarter of 2010? Im sure there will be better phones by then..
No surprise.
Still no “official” WM 6.5 for HTC Touch Pro 2
This probably has a lot to do with the fact that WM 7 isn’t even scheduled for release until late 2010.
This will inevitably get pushed back to Q2 2011. So, it makes sense considering that in a year and a half, much better hardware will be around.
This is all related to the 8-billion “Windows Mobile is dead” thread going around in this forum and around the web.
Despite all the evidence and popular opinion indicating the WM is gone, WM users are still listening to the music and going down with the ship. Clutching, clinging, hoping, denying, and praying that they will be saved.
HTC is denying ever saying this now
@orangekid – DaG has had an Alpha version of Windows Phone 7 for about 6 months now…put it on one of his phones and he can’t revert it
