Apple App Store Requirements Not Up to Par

We just got a tip. About a invasion of your privacy. From a iPhone Game App.

According to a reliable source, Storm8, maker of free iPhone games such as Racing Live!, World War, and iMobsters, is being sued. The lawsuit was filed in San Francisco on behalf of Washington State resident Michael Turner after a security hole was discovered that allows software writers to collect your iPhone number – without consent. The numbers are allegedly being sold to companies who later contact the users to sell them various services, including car insurance.  In August of this year, Storm8 acknowledged that the transmission of the personal information was a bug, however the reason this ‘bug’ has yet to be fixed is quite suspicious.

Many users are now wondering what certain applications and ROMs may be doing without their consent.

This begs the question – Should Apple be held responsible for letting it into the App Store? Or is it Storm8’s responsibility?

I think its apples responsibility to filter all there “AP’s” before adding them to there ap store. who knows how many countless aps out there give this same problem and continues to go un noticed

Apple takes forever to scan through each individual app and only let through the ones that are up to par, so yea this is certainly their fault

    I certainly BLAME Apple.

They must not care to scan the apps before putting them into the App Store so that they can keep on making commercials saying that they have 75,000 apps.

I am not hating since I DO have an iPhone that is not activated but jailbroken so I can play all the Storm8 games :D

Apple and Storm8 are responsible, unless Apple has it written somewhere where they are exempt from liability in cases such as this. And if they do have it written somewhere, then it has to pass legal scrutiny.
