HTC Battery Bank!

One of the biggest questions I see here on the forum is “How do I make my battery last longer?” While you can tweak your phone and get a couple extra hours from it, most of us still need to plug into a car or wall at least once a day. The problem with that is you need a car or wall outlet. That is where HTC comes to the rescue.

Great SenseUI Alternative!

So today I got tired of my Rhodium manila, and decided to try and mockup the SenseUI found on the HTC Hero, which is an Android device. The results were astonishing with a skin pack for PointUI Home2 called PointSense. There is still a lot of work being done to provide more applets in SenseUI style, but it is rolling along very nicely.

CDMA to LTE Data Handover Completed..

While this may not be the biggest news for most of the community, the first live and active passover of a data connection between a CDMA and LTE (Long Term Evolution) device has been completed. This means that a device that has both a CDMA and LTE chipset, respectively, handled a data connection and switched over from one technology to another without a loss of the data connection.

This is significant for a few reasons. First off, this showcases future technology that Verizon Wireless may use when they start their own roll out of LTE. Also, having a device like this would allow for users to use LTE in Europe/Asia and a CDMA network in the US. A ROM could be built that allows a user to access Sprint’s CDMA network while also browsing Verizon’s LTE network for instance. Also, it puts pressure on Sprint/Clearwire to increase the speed of the roll out of their own 4G (Wi-Max) network. For more information on LTE, please go here.

The Perfect Phone

Lag? Not with this phone. Its 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 8250 processor is one of the fastest to date. And it’s supposed to run Windows Phone 6.5. Bulky? Not this phone. At 11 mm, this thing is ultra thin. Small screen? Not this phone. With a 4.3 inch WVGA (480 x 800) capacitive touch screen display, its great for those with fat fingers. What about 3.5 mm headphone jack? Got it! What phone am I talking about? Well, it may not be out yet, but these are the rumored specs for the HTC LEO!
Here are some pictures for you!

OpenTable for Palm webOS is the latest addition to the Palm Pre’s beta App Catalog. The popular restaurant reservation service adds a few new goodies to the menu thanks to the unique capabilities of Palm webOS. For example, you can find restaurants with availability near your current location, and your reservations can be automatically integrated into your calendar.

OpenTable is available to download immediately at no cost via the App Catalog.

Also new in the App Catalog: Fliq Bookmarks, a helpful utility from Mark/Space that works with The Missing Sync for Palm Pre to transfer Safari bookmarks from your desktop (Mac for now, PC coming soon) to your Palm Pre.
